ok, so I busted my butt for the past 2 months to finally get enough gil to buy a sniper ring...

now I'm having serious doubts :0(

I don't know... that whole 570K for one ring...

I have excellent ACC gear, I'm just missing that ring.

I stopped lvling at 50 just so I could have one Sniper.
now I'm having doubts.

I got cooking to 50 and I started to ponder what if I took that gil and turned it into another craft like wood working... could I seriously turn that 500k into double or tripple with the right craft.

Help me..

I miss you guys... Stupid websense traffic blocker at work (anyone know a work around?)

Mattea,
Woodworking is a nice craft for various reasons but until you hit lvl 75 in it you aren't making alot of cash. You can skill-up quickly and inexpensively (most times you make a little more then you spend). Arrows are the primary cratable for skill-ups and sell quickly but the return over investment is small.
At 75, however, Elemental Staffs become a money-maker.
If you sold all of the arrows you make on the AH you should be able to hit lvl 55 or so with your initial 570k investment.
I am unable to speak about other crafts as I haven't yet ventured into them.
Hope my small experience in wood is helpful.

All I can say is, don't do Goldsmithing. Cooking is pretty cheap and can net you a lot of money at higher lvls by HQ'ing things (same goes for any craft, but cooking is by far one of the cheapest to level in a short amount of time).

Edit: About the sniper's ring: You can get by not having sniper's ring by eating Sole Sushi. Although you lose the damage from kabobs, it helps tremendously with your hitrate. And even though I have a sniper's ring, it's the sushi that really makes a difference IMO.
