DISCLAIMER: I AM NOT SEEKING TO LEECH FENRIR. I NEVER WANT TO, AND NEVER WILL.

That being said...
What's everyone's thoughts on leeching Fenrir? I mean, he is apparently the "best summon" and the "required summon" for upper level parties.

But how many people would actually be willing to help someone leech it? I know it's a big business apparently, people offering up to 200,000 gil per person for him. With that kind of money in the market, I'd help someone leech o..O

But seriously, what are your views on this seemingly-sensitive subject?

I would be willing to pay that amount to "leech" Fenrir. Ive heard that once you get to 43, Fenrir starts becoming expected since thats when he starts really becoming very usefull. Of course, theres no way you could get him at 43, unless you have a much higher job, and some people willing to help you fight him, right?

Fenrir Leeching:

A lower level summoner that has a Moon Bauble (so he/she can enter Full Moon Fountain BC against Fenrir Prime) askes 5 other higher levels to help him/her beat Fenrir, so summoner can get Fenrir.

Chances are that summoner will also have to get helped to fight the other avatar primes.

Usually

60+ for Avatar Primes
70+ for Fenrir Prime

I am assuming by "leeching" he means having 5 lvl 75 players kill fenrir for you when you are far too low to do it. Summoners in their 40s that had fenrir made such a huge difference... Giving a summoner dispel and powerful buffs adds so much to their overall value in a party. 200k is a bargan if you can get fenrir 30 levels earlier.

Problem is fenrir BCNM needs all the prime fights completed, so someone would have to walk you through them as well. This would be very time consuming, but it was faily common back in the day before they made the lesser L20 avatar battles.

There are other (less extreme) cases where you can't obtain your ideal spells/gear for your level range. Look at the brown belt quest. A L40 belt for monks which require three NM that no L40 character could ever hope to beat. Monks usually buy this, skip it and earn it later (after its obsolete), or get high level LS help to kill the NM for you (very rare). With fenrir you dont have the option to buy it, and its value lasts till end game.

So I wouldn't even call that leeching. Geting L75s to do rank quests for you would be leeching, but Fenrir is so vital to the job that there should be no shame in doing whatever you can to get it as soon as possible. Some old school smn may disagree (get a whm to 70 and only then start smn after you've earned your summons) but fellow players in the 40-60 range will be very grateful to see that dog and definately wont think less of you if you didnt "earn" it.
