Weeeee... finally....
After 2 months of sitting at lvl 39, loosing 3.6k exp straight without a party... and even long periods of no grouping, long periods of looking for group and trying to solo out EP's only to be killed after I earned 300-600 exp (thus loosing everything I earned and then some) and still wouldn't have an invite...
Finally last night I hit 40 and am just a little under halfway thru the level... I hope to get 42 or 43 (44 would be nice) by the end of the weekend.. but it seems lately every weekend that rolls around it's either A) Can't find a group, or B) end up devoting my time to others... (sometimes both).
Pointless thread... sorry, but I've been waiting for 40 (from 38) for 3 months now... just glad I finally have it.

Congrats! I remember long wait times, and unless I find a SP i will endure them more as my PLD, and even my RNG has almost hit an INV wall....DAMN YOU COP!!!
Hey Warf I'm getting the DRK back out tonight. I'm 1k tnl 46 so maybe I'll make a push to catch your RNG and we can go wreak havoc some time.

sadly warf, I think smn's have a rather hard time getting parties at times. I mean, occassionally, someone will be online that knows what a smn is capable of doing and will shoot an invite or a tell... and usually, as fate would have it, I'm pre-occupied or busy during these rarities. I'm not sure what happens the rest of the time... either someone says: "That smn has a low healing skill, we need a whm", or perhaps: "SMN's are a waste of a pt slot." or in general people just don't think about smn's when they do /sea all xx-yy (job)... kinda like brd.
I've done blm to 46 and whm to 40... now that my smn is 40, I can honestly say it's been the hardest and most time consuming job... infact, it got soo bad at one point, it was easier for me to find a party tanking with my 30mnk/15war... yes... tanking. So surely the odd scenario's have filled my deck of cards... but you'd think a healing smn would be one of the odd scenario's in that deck but... "Go Fish!"
Anywho, thanks for the replies... now my next target is 50, Genkai and lvl 51. I must make use of my staves before I loose them under the mog dust.

Grats Nebz. I never thought it would be hard for SMN to get parties... but I guess not everyone knows how useful they really are.
yup... just as some people are unaware of any exp zones other than valkurm, qufim, kazham's jungles', Garbaige ********* CN and maybe Gustav Tunnel.
I've actually heard people state in the party chat: "SMN last option." Meh... I'd think that enough people on Cerberus know me, or at least who I am, but that doesn't even help... I guess I won't really be known till I'm lvl 70+ and helping everyone that's shouting for quests and missions and AF in jeuno. :\.
However, lately I can't help but wonder: "Where are all my friends at?" Nearly any time of the day, I won't have more than a dozen people online on my friendslist... have that many people left the game? or are a majority just a little tired of it?
Personally, I'm in no rush to get to 75 as I dunno what I'd do after that... or if the game would even be the same... but to get to 51 or 55, I'd love to have it yesterday... The only thing I still need yet before I hit 50 is Austere Cuffs and Austere Robe... :-\. 1.5 mil right there ; ;... so maybe it's a good thing it's going slow.
Also, I need Austere Legs if anyone has high enough leathercraft to make them. I doubt I will ever find them on the AH in jeuno as the price history is far less than the cost of the synth itself I'm sure... Yet if someone can make them, I'll get the materials... if someone is willing to part with a pair, I would love to purchase them. Please send tells to Nebz.

the game doesnt start till you hit 70 IMO. as far as what you can do 70+ really opens up. SMN are a big part of HNM and GOD fights. awsome buffs , big damage, a surplus of MP, avatars beeing able to take part in light and dark skillchains. I do agree that getting SMN to 70+ would be hell though.

yea at my level i don't look for a summoner really -i mean they are nice and stuff but they don't have Cure IV and V =/- i do like whm/smn's though lol. /cheer's garuda's blink =). summoners are nice when u have them though =P. had a rdm/smn and smn/whm the other night. good pt. Garuda's Blink + Titan's Stoneskin = PLD's best friend =). not getting hit as much to cure gotta hurt my hate. but i had SATA on me so really wasn't a problem. /cheer's krem on. good luck getting a party. hopefully u can hit 50 whenever i get this gay cash for windy aketon so u can buy ur armor ^.^b

Got 41 last night... was pushing for 42, but the PT just fell apart half way thru lvl 41... I ended up dying twice and HP'ing both times (as I was main healer). It's not I couldn't handle the job, the pt was all ninja tanks... Thing is they'd work their way to the point they were fighting in the big open room before the secret room in the CN... We were in the downward ramp/tunnel thing leading into the room and occassionally they'd work their way into fighting in the big room... then agro an exoray since the soldier wasn't challenging enough I guess. The other time I died was cause the puller brought back a fly. OMFG I hate flies... I don't think a PT should use them to get exp... they're too deadly. They have AoE nearly as powerfull as a gobs, but there's no way to stop them or make them ***** up and damage themselves... Flies are too deadly for levels to get good exp off them in the dunes... they're deadly in Gustav Tunnel and they're deadly in the CN too. Eh... hopefully tonight I can get 42.

Thanks guys... took the night off to help a friend level throwing skill. Amazing how easy one can level it when Ifrit's holding the hate and have tea with Nebz instead of killing the mob.

^^ Yes, Cursed Sphere is definitely not an AoE that I look forward to. Especially if I don't have the mp to heal with and get more hate. Plus, one night we had 2 DRGs in the party... I felt bad for the Wyverns, one of which died from poison. Thank God Spirit Link cures poison now. :)
I know how hard it is to get a level sometimes. I got lucky and levelled fairly quickly from 35-49, doing various paries in Garlaige, Crawler's, West Altepa, Quicksand Caves, Onzono and finally back to Garlaige. Took me over 3 days to get to 50 because one day, I sat in town for a whole 8 hours lfp... Of course, it was Thanksgiving...
I couldn't picture waiting weeks for a party... that's just horrible. :(

Took me over 3 days to get to 50 because one day, I sat in town for a whole 8 hours lfp... Of course, it was Thanksgiving...

LoL. Don't level MNK or DRG then. :-b If you do, make a LOT of friends. Ha. Only thing that's saved me and I've still gone 3 solid days of LFG with no party.
