As i am new to the game i really would appreciate some help..
I am kinda stuck on lvl 12 THF.. not really stuck.. but i think it could go faster. I am soloing, and i tried Orcs, Goblins, and other easy kills. I dont really know any good places to solo and some of the decent i have found are to hard. So if anyone of you know some good place to solo please post them, the guides i have found on the forum are mostly saying party from lvl 11 and so on, but i have a hard time finding groups. As i am thf and dont have the best equipment.
I started in San dOria btw.
If anyone want to party with me and maybe know some other people just post a time on the forum and i will /t you

And if anyone has a linkshell with helpfull people who answer some newbish questions without laughing i would love to join..

Thanks for the time in advice :)

Welcome to the worst 3 levels for thf :D

Use H2H weapons or a sword, but keep dagger capped. At level 15 things get better, you get Sneak Attack.

For now, you should be able to head to the dunes and PT, or just suck it up and solo till 15, then PT. After 15 things get opened up for you, continue with H2H or sword but keeping dagger capped, at 30 or 33 ??? cant remember LOL you get a Weaponskill called Viper Bite (dagger). That is your bread and butter skill for like 30-31 levels until you get Dancing Edge.

Just stick with it, THF is fun, I need to level mine :D If you have any questions you can /tell me in game or post here. Lots of good people here and in game :D

{/welcome} to the boards!

Your best bet at that lvl would be to find a PT. I do not know any good spots for THF to solo past 10. Once upon a time I was an elvaan thf from Sandoria so I feel your pain.

Head through West Ronf. to La Theine Plateau. Be careful here, as mobs will still aggro you. Stick to the road or watch out for mobs and make your way to Valkurm Dunes.

You should find a pt there eventually. Once you get to lvl 15 you will get Sneak Attack, this helps you contribute much more to a pt, so you are more likely to get more invites post 15. Also, make sure you have a bow and some arrows, thf is usually a good puller (pt member who goes out and gets the next mob the pt will fight, and brings said mob back to camp).

Feel free to send me /tell in game if you have any questions. Character name in my sig. I will not laugh, no matter how ridiculous your questions may seem ^^

Yeah, well it's true. 12-15 are argueably the worst levels a thf has to go through, PT's don't want you, cause you suck at dmg, soloing sucks for the same reason. its about what 8-9k of the longest EXP to ever get in the game.

hmmm you could try soloing a bit in la thiene plateau just be careful not to wonder to far stay clear of orcs that con Decent or above. The exp is low but it will keep giving you a steady flow as you will not need that much time to rest in between kills. other then that you could make a mini 3 man pt and kill crabs near the lake on la thiene plateau. You should do alright there. hang in there you will get 15 ><

I did my thief in Maze of Shak and worked on those MM worms. Pick yourself a whm, and the two of you can work on those, while you bow and arrow them, and the mage heals you. It can be slow at times when you miss, but pick up some good accuracy food and it shouldn't be too bad. Can really go up to level 17-18 there.

The best places to solo at level 12 would be Latheine or Konschat.
Dont know if you can take crabs solo in latheine without a sub, but worms should give some easy xp.

or, you can go around kill everything in Ghelshba, firecrystals are up to 5k/stack. and thats alot. But wont give much xp / kill. But i ent out with pretty much gil from level 12-14 on my thf.

It may seem really simple but one of the best things you can do is invest in a stack of mithkabobs.
Food makes a hughe amount of difference while soloing at the lower levels.

May I recommend a combination of the two. :-b Seeing as how I'm one that can't stand to just sit looking for a party, I would recommend to put your party flag up, then go to either Konschtat or La Theine and solo Easy Preys. This way you're at least getting some exp while you wait for a party.

Very true. But may I suggest a crossbow. THFs have an A- in marksmanship and I think a good THF should carry some acid bolts for debuffing, and sleep bolts for emergencies. Not to mention Crossbows will do more damage at low levels and are faster than standard bows.

If later on in the game you feel like throwing a lot of money away to impress your friends, there's always guns. :-) GL and welcome to Vanadiel

Man I remember leveling thf to 15... that **** sucked. Luckily I got an invite to a JP party so it wasn't too horrible for some of it. But some of thf's best dmg early on is with Bow and Arrow and once you get 15, might be able to pick up an Xbow and land Defense down bolts and really go to town. Might need to use some sushi food though. I always leveled my 10-15 jobs lately with a friend PL in Konschtat or I just solo the worms there till i can take liz and sheep. I remember soloing pld there to 15, was fun.

I never ever had any problems getting THF to 15, despite what everyone said about it being a hard job to get PTs with at low lvls.. I dunno, maybe people just like me in their PTs ^^v
Now I'm lvling DRG, another job everyone said is hard to get PTs with and I'm not having any problems at all! Maybe I'm just lucky :P

bah was gonna say go /rng and eat up worms in the maze but you do not have ranger open yet O.o

still a ranged party in the maze is the best at that level then on to bigger and badder worms

what has two thumbs and loves a Mithra named Cassiatia?
