How many of you really know what a Bard does? I was in a Exp. party last night and was quite suprised when I found out that the PLD had only been in a party with a bard once before.
Postioning is important when a bard is in the party. No matter where we are at, it can be done easily. Yes, even in Garliage and Kuftal!
PLD's please keep in mind that if you want Ballad 2 during the fight and Madrigal then keep your back to the mages at all times. This can be done, good PLD's who can control and keep hate have proved this theory. :)
It takes a bit of working out the kinks to get a good postioning and yes, sometimes the "mob" will move and songs buff may hit more people than it should but the beauty is, I can recast and it will be ok.
Party Setup:
A= WHM
B= PLD
C= Bard (C1, C2, C3, C4-My various positions)
D= THF
E= BLM
F= DRK
X= Enemy
----------------C1(Ballad, regular. A,E get it)-----------------
-----------------------------------------------------------------
------------E-A--------------------------------------------------
----------------C2(I cast Ballad 2 and A,B,E get it)-------------
------------------(Then Learned Etude if "E" wants it)-----------
----------------B------------------------------------------------
---------------X--C3(Madrigal)----------------------------
---------------FD------------------------------------------------
-----------------------------------------------------------------
---------------C4(Minuet)----------------------------------------
(F)really has the option on where they want to be, depending on if they want ballad or not.
That's the order of the main songs for me, my debuffs are in between. I just listed the main ones. In time, you develop a way to cast buffs, debuffs that work for you and your party.
After this the Pt members would have:
A= Ballad & Ballad 2. (Pre-55 Ballad I w/ Spirited Etude.)
B= Ballad 2 & Madrigal.
C= Whatever the last 2 songs that were "Aerial Party" buffs.
D= Madrigal & Minuet.
E= Ballad & Ballad 2. OR Ballad 2 & Learned Etude.
F= Usually Madrigal and Minuet. OR Ballad & Madrigal.
I hope this makes sense, maybe it is because I am a bard and in my head I can see the setup.
