Tainted: All talkFollow

You've probably run into Tainted a few times on Cerbeus. She is always doing that stupid casino and spams it non-stop.

Well once I met up with her when helping someone with the RDM AF Hat NM fight.

I was talking about how great the Gluttony sword with another pld and she interupts us and starts saying how it dosen't matter cause she does so much damage as ranger and blah blah blah that PLD can't hold hate.

She then said I sucked even though I have never partied with her before and everytime in Jeuno I ran across her she would go..

Snapper = [(Too Weak)]

A week later we meet up in 60 cap ballista. I was trying to have a little 1v1 with my friend which is very common if you have ever played Ballista.

But no, Tainted had to follow me around attacking me each time I tried to 1v1 my friend.

One time I just stood there as she killed me.

Finally I deciding to take her on.

She war RNG/NIN and I was PLD/WAR.

The fight starts off with her attacking me as normal and I attacking her as normal. Untill she made one fatal mistake - she used Sure Shot before her weaponskill which allowed me time to 2 hour and negate all damage.

She couldn't get utsusemi up as I kept going away at her with a sword. As she realized that she was going to lose she tried to call her friends over to save her....but it was too late.

Tainted was defeated by Snapper.

So the next time you see the "Ballista Princess" or the "Opo-opo roll" just give me a little..

Well, to have a PLD beat a RNG in ballista, 2 hour or no is impressive. Also, if Tainted was so great she wouldn't have done Sure Shot at the wrong time. Needless to say i think you put her in her place. Good Job.

haha I admit Tainted can be a little harsh sometimes, but I'm pretty sure she doesn't mean to be. Please cut her a little slack.

People shouldn't take this so seriously.
Ballista is a sport and like in every sport there is bound to be controversy.
From the moment it was introduced rivalries were formed
of course people are gonna bad mouth eachother.
And sometimes, just sometimes (like every other sport) it spills out from the arena.

I'm not saying I agree with it, im just saying it should be taken with a pinch of salt... Seriously is a thread about some stupid ballista rivalry as bad as a "So and so is a crappy <insert job here> never play with him again" thread?

A good trick to taking out rangers in ballista is to keep running around them trying to stay behind them so they cannot shoot you. I've beat rangers so many times using this tactic. If you're going to hate someone in ballista, at least let be Heero @@; But gratz on the win ^^/

Tainted you do know that the way you act gets you a bad rep at times. *nods* You really should tone it down in ballista before the entire server blists ya. Just cuz you have had the Gold Balistar title doesnt make you like the "ub3r 1 of t3h s3v3r"

1. a 2 hour is a tool, just like any other thing is a tool. using it isn't a sign of cowardice, and should never be treated as one. a pld who 2 hours shouldn't be called an idiot. just like a thf who 2 hours in the nick of time during a heated battle shouldn't be considered a coward either. how else do so many pts survive in times of links and what not? if this tool were so much like a coward's tool, or so it is made to seem, i'd love to see a RNG stand in the middle of 3 mobs using his/her 2 hour to kill one, and then die to the other 2. if 2 hour use were indeed an unfair advantage, then it'll be in the ballista rules that 2 hours not be allowed. since it isn't, i'd consider it fair play.

2. gluttony sword doesn't help hold hate in the same way that others think. the good thing about gluttony is that it has a +7 to vit, which dramatically lowers the maximum dmg a mob can deal to the person using it. with the lowering of max dmg, the pld lasts longer. and because the pld lasts longer, he can use more spells/abilities in order to gain hate. the gluttony sword also does a little more dmg (if a pld can hit the mob), so that little more sometimes adds more hate to the pld's usual repertoire.

3. a well-equipped rng CAN out-hate a pld. it takes the very best pld (and almost all the available pld tools) to be able to hold the kind of hate that a rng at full-strength can dish out. however, forcing a pld in lvling parties to do so is not a necessarily a good thing. with diminished hate holding abilities (recast timers on these are often 3-5 mins, 10 for holy circle), the hate would be all over the place in some fights, and hence cause unnecessary downtime, decreasing the likelihood of chains.

4. "Spam" is used when you mean that you press a button repeatedly in order to achieve a desired effect, or desired effects. if you were to "spam" messages, then you're repeatedly using the commands to say the same things over and over. in the case of "spamming a macro", it just means to keep using the same macro over and over, regardless of whether or not the ability does in fact occur due to limitations.

5. '28 HP' vs '400 HP' shows either that both the parties have rather fogey memories, or that one is lying through his/her teeth. since both sides cannot seem to hold from exaggerating the truth, it's best to not pay this flaming thread much heed. till there is a common ground for both to argue on, there really isn't much to argue about. i.e. tainted can go back to being happy about thinking that she rules in ballista, and amishfo can be happy that he managed to beat tainted that one time out of the many others that were defeats. if anything, both of you are amusing in the fact that you're fighting like little kids on a forum, almost like "my sword is bigger than yours, so i win!" and "no you don't, i have more money! so you lose. BWahAAhAhaHa~~!" but heck, it's a free world. ^^
