Hello Everyone!
Those of you who have had to go to Castle Oztroja to get the key (or may still be trying...) can you share how long it took, location, and how many attempts it took? I am becoming very discouraged for my Warlock's Tabbard (AF), so is an LS mate who also needs the key for his BRD coffer. We have tried on 4 - 5 separate occasions, for 3-5 hours each attempt, and numerous deaths and no keys - at all. Other very nice scroll drops (especially for BRD), and WHM AF key item drops... just no keys.
Words of encouragement and tales of triumph are VERY welcomed! Please share all your times, attempts, tips, etc... I would love to hear them.

Well, I've been up there on several runs before :P The key is real, I promise. If you need help, just send me a /tell in game and if i'm not busy... 67PLD {You can have this} to help XD
BRDs Choral Cannions came via a castle Oz Coffer Key, if i remember correctly it droped within an hour so either I was lucky or you are unlucky. Keep trying it'll drop
it's real, i sat in there for 8 hours before my help arrived... then we got the key in about 5 hours, i stayed for another 3 hours helping the blm that came to help get a scroll he needed... the scroll still didn't drop tho... poor blm... but i was sooo tired... 16 hours in there does that to ya >.>
I assure you it is real, as I have my own tabard sitting in my safe to prove it. It took about a hour and a half for it to drop. It was me (56 rdm at the time), 74 whm, 74 thf/nin, 56 blm, and a 67 smn. We camped in what I think they said was the throne room. I would also mention that for some reason I have insane luck with getting drops. This was the longest it has ever taken me to get what I needed, whether it was a key or the 3 items for G1.
Patience is key. When i went to go and get my Key for my tabbard as well it took a good 3hrs? if it didnt drop in an hour we escaped marched right back in and began wacking again. For some odd reason when you zone in and out it changes things a bit i guess. Well for me anyway it seems to work =P

.... got 2-3 keys in an hour... 2-3 days in a row so heh its just bad luck dude lol get a thf to come with ya and ull get it for sure

Yea... We decided to head out to Castle Oztroja to get a coffer key for one of our LS members... We were all 60ish (this was for one of the member's RDM job he's leveling) and went with a 60 THF too.
First mob we pulled by the big doors upstairs dropped the key... it was a BLM type mob.
We decided to try another one cuz the BLM also needed a testimony. This second one also dropped a key o.O
Fastest two coffer key drops I've ever seen, especially consecutively.

Man i had no idea this was a long time drop. We went in and first mob drop key we killed 2 more triing for BLM testimony, the 3rd mob droped another key...... we did have a 60 THF but i'm sure u had "TH" help to....... ><good luck><

And if I recall correctly, the third one linked with 2 others and we {Escape}'d at that point :P

I wonder if this drop rate was changed in a recent update??? We have not tried for probably a month or two due to the horrid luck we had, so if any of these tales are more recent, it definately makes me feel a bit better. Now I just need to get the party together to give it another try! We now have a 2nd RDM in LS in need of the key also (Paragon ^.^ ) so it should be fun time for 3 key drops!!
(Already have the macro made for Aquaveil + Escape and in a REAL emergency, Chainspell + Escape!)

I'm a firm believer they changed the drop rate after they removed Astral rings from Castle O because I went to get a DRK in my linikshell a key and it took us 16 hours pre-patch.
This last sunday my gf and I got 2 keys in 20 minutes thanks to 3 lvl 75s that were farming Ninjitsu scrolls and didn't want the keys. One being a lvl 75 THF so I'm guessing that helped too.

Well folks, I was in there again yesterday for a few hours (with one Escape and regroup) and still no key! I MUST have the worst luck ever... man I KNOW I have the worst luck... and we had a THF with us the whole time!! Maybe I am meant to get a Vermillion Cloak instead.... /sigh... that will take care of Head and Body! We got scroll, The Yag Holy water, a judgement key (we killd a variety of Yags)and still no coffer key drop. I am a sad Mithra...

took my friend trobian(64 rdm) . to get his key for AF body. Killed ONE birdman. got 1 coffer key . .......next

I have a couple LS Members that need this also. We seem to have pretty decent luck with coffer keys (got 2 GC keys in 20 mins last night) and when we go for this one I'll try to look you up. Most of the RDMs are sitting around 55 atm but there's one that's leveling to catch me at 60 for SP. I think he's close to 57 now and going to make an EXP push so we should be going soon. He's wearing Shaman's Cloack, however, so I'm not sure how big a hurry he's in to get his AF body. LoL.

as far as those 1 kill 1 key stories go.. It is possible, and honestly Lewbaby i would probably give it another shot since its been awhile from your last attempt, you will feel Pimpy fresh when you get your tabbard, and straight pimpin when you get your hat. Hehe as far as the Hat goes though from personal experience it isnt a cake walk to be taken lightly.
Leet! OMG, please grab me if/when you all do it - if you can and remember...! I am on late nights usually and days sometimes so please do! I also have a few other ppl that need it in my ls... 2 other up an coming RDM's (Paragon and Ezeus) and a BRD (Moaner)... but that we can work out later! I (and they) would be honored and delighted to join you!

Well, it would help a very great deal if could make this an LS event and go camping this with everyone lvl 50+ The more peeps, the quicker the kills, the faster you might be able to get the key.
Another thing that helps a great deal, is if you got *at least* 2 lvl 45+ THFs (the more TH2 going on, the quicker and more often these keys will drop).

Well.... I have lots of friends... however only one is a Hi-Lv THF... but we shall try I am sure! Plus as of midnight I am on "spring break" from college (its been interfering with my gaming) so hopefully we can get some stuff going at anytime!

[lie] send us the proof, WE NEED TO SEE THE KEY! ; ; I just got my davoi key, I payed 3 LVL 75's 200K a piece. Took 10 hours total. Good luck with the AF, and never forget that you could be having to go to do the (sickening) bedeaux coffer ; ;.

We (as LS) need to get our resident PLD (Muyfuerte) a key for there... LOL!! So I don't really get out of it... we actaully tried a week or so ago but didn't have enough people in party adn we had some lower level people tryig to help too... it got ugly... people died... had to escape... and no key! Maybe I am the jinx... <Hmmm.>
