Played for the first time after hooking my pc up to my t.v. via S-Video and I must admit, it's nice having PC quality graphics on a 27 in. screen.

Anyway, this is just a small rant with a quick question:

First, I spent 4 hours trying to get a pt with my lvl 19 thf and my lvl 38 sam, with no luck. So I decided, you know what, now that I have G1 done, I guess I'll take the time to lvl my pld again. Sure enough, within 5 minutes I get an invite to the Crawler's Nest to fight Helm Beetles.

2 and a 1/2 hours later, I have about 800 exp and one death to show for it. It took me about a 1/2 hour to reach my pt (because I had to pick up some stuff on AH really quick, like tacos and oils-- 12k a stack now!!!!!! >:( ). Then, when I get there, another person leaves suddenly. Fine, we get a whm and wait another 20 minutes for them. Then, I guess the rdm had been rubbing the rest of the pt the wrong way, so the blm D2s him and boots him, grabbing a rng. Another 20 minute wait.

Then the killer. We see there's about 3-4 pts there now so the rng suggests we head to fight Knight Crawlers. We're all like "ok", though we never had been there before. It takes us about 45 minutes to get to camp, with me dying once because my Sneak wore off suddenly before I could get to a safe area. Then, when we finally do make it to camp, we kill two crawlers and the blm has to leave because we took so long getting to where we were. I realize that by this time I only have a hour left myself abd by the time someone new got there, I'd have to leave. So the blm casts Escape and we all get D2s and disband the party.

2 and 1/2 hours wasted + 4 hours wasted = 6 1/2 hours of my life I'll never get back.

Now, I'm wondering, is it always like this post-50? Do I have to run through 900 aggro infested areas of death, wasting 25k in potions every time I want to level? If so, I'll just lvl all my current jobs to 50 and quit. >.>

Why the heck did Square decide to make it so tough to get past lvl 50? Not only do you need tons of exp, but you have to kill yourself to break the caps and even get to the places to level!! And then there's all the AF quests... I've been so concerened with just breaking Genkais and lvling sub jobs and getting my AF that I've never even been to any of the CoP areas. I've never even done any BCNMs outside of the one required for Rank 3... It makes you want to tear your hair out and say "I'm paying 15 bucks a month for this?!"

Anyway, rant is over. Going to try to calm down and center myself. Guess I'll try thf and sam again tomorrow... at the lvls when i can still have fun trying to xp. <.<

Wow, guess it turned into a bigger rant than I thought. :P

I know exactly how you feel. I looked for party the other day for four hours. What i've kinda come to realize is that this is supposed to be fun, so I try to help out my friends when I can. Spent 3 hours in Quicksand Caves helpin a friend out today. This game is, in general, uber frustrating, and I don't particular see an end to it. Just keep on keepin on, and eventually you'll find that one party that let's you get two levels in a night :)

heh, why you think I've been playing over a year and all I have to show for it is a few level 40 jobs? Be glad you have G1 done and a job past 50... I personally don't think I ever will get there.

Sadly, it is the ******* around process that breaks PT's. If you could invite someone half way across VD just so that's spot is filled, you all can communicate and everyone in the PT knows that help is on the way... it'd be much better. This is very similar to the lvl 25-30 job that gets invite for Kazham while in jeuno... airships there and right as the player gets to Kazham the PT breaks up... why? Impatience.

No one willing to wait to pick back up... rather than wait an extra 5 min for replacement to finally show up, they leave to find another group (which could take up to 30-60 more minutes). It's these people that do not think ahead of time and are just too impatient and will have a tough time with this game later on.

However, there's also a good few people who have to leave for honestly something last minute, must be done, type stuff. I'm one of those players in such an unfortunate circumstance. Unfortunately, my roommate is rather picky about when to go and get things done... it's ALWAYS at his discrepancy. I'm not sure if he plays that card cause he just doesn't bother to think about how I feel about the situation, or if he does it just cause he knows he has a car and I don't... it has to be done when he wants to do it or it won't get done. Further more, if it is a situation where it requires myself and he does not have the option to just do it. He'll throw a whiney debate about going and getting it over with so he can come back and do something he wants... meanwhile I'm in a PT preoccupied... but gotta drop it all cause HE wants to do something later.

Eh, apparently we all have some built up steam that needs to be vented... Anywho, we all have good days and bad days, horrible days and extrodinary days... it's a gamble each and every day when we log in (unless you have a SP or something). I think that might be why I don't like leaving the city with any of my characters any more... just sit around and sell stuff and synth more stuff to sell.

The 50's are the worst levels in the game. Its the point where you really need to grow a thick skin to get past. This is coming from a BLM who had no issues getting PT invites, even I had moments where I wanted to quit cause of the 50's. Its an odd level where your strong, but not strong enough to do the cool things that you can do once you hit 60. Anyways, just be patient, take your time. Once you get past it the game really opens up.

I also have to say that there is one thing that really irks me about the game and makes we go "wtf?" Square went through all this trouble to craft a large, beautiful world and made 85% of it only accessible to 15% of the population. There's so much to see in the game and chances are most people will never see it because A) you have to be too high level to get there or b) it's just a pain in the neck. People will always level on the same mobs in the same few places because of the exp grind and the need to get exp as fast as you can. I think it's sad that I've been playing for over and year and pretty much the only things I've seen are the cities, the dunes (god help me), qufim and a few select areas that I've visited once or twice to lvl (like Altepa, Quicksand Caves, etc). It's just sad that you have to be lvl 70+ to see almost all the areas in the game without 100 mobs jumping on you instantly... and even at that lvl, all it takes is one EP aggroing monster and all the other join in. Ah well, I'll probably just take a break from the game for a while, like I've done in the past and play some WoW instead.
