Damn, this is frustrating.. i've spent countless hours sitting in jeuno, farming, questing, whatever with my flag up. Every time I look to start a party there's none of 1 vital job. Either no tanks, or no blackmages, or no brd or rdm and the blm will disband because he can't live without refresh. i've watched multiple lesser players with way lesser gear fly past me in levels, even though some of them had HUGE flame threads about them... WTF? So now I ask you, the people of Cerberus. What would help me get into your party? I am a 56mnk/28war and my equip setup is as follows:

Weapon: Bone Patas+1 (i have spartan cesti already for lvl 58)
Head: Windurstian Headgear/Temple Crown
Body: Jujitsu Gi
Hands: Temple Gloves(Had Kote, but noticed higher dmg with AF)
Legs: Masters Sitabaki/Aikido *******
Feet: Temple Gaiters(also been considering Kung-Fu Shoes)
Belt: Brown Belt/Life Belt
Earrings: Spike Earrings
Rings: Sun Rings

I used to have Sniper rings, but between using Sushi and Focus with my AF(Enhances Focus Effect) I don't miss and usually built TP faster than anybody else, almost as fast as SAM

I also have a whole set of +MND gear that I macro in and out for ChiBlast(+24MND) and I eat either Mithkabobs(+STR, +ATK) or Sole Sushi(+STR, +DEX, +ACC) depending on the situation.

I know it gets tough for melee between 55-60 but this is ridiculous. If you're starting an exp party, please feel free to invite me. It seems lately I'm always looking for a party, and it's not worth my $14 a month to just sit around anymore. I'm usually available all day morning to afternoon and sometimes in the evenings too.

join the club... 43smn/21whm and not even invites to main heal ; ;.

I'll sit lfg in jeuno, go farming (or skill-up'ing) in qufim or the tower, or even rolanberry fields... all the while LFG... still no invites or tells for PT. However, for some odd reason, if I go to Windurst Woods, get Clothcraft support and begin leveling my clothcraft with about 10-12 item stacks consuming my inventory... then I'll get an invite... but only if I still have lots of stuff to synth. If my inventory is almost back to normal, no invites for me. Go Fig...

Anywho, g/l with your mnk... least you didn't have this problem at lvl 43 ; ;

I know how you feel, eventhough I got some of the supposedly In-Demands jobs, I have spent nearly 3 to 4 hrs LFP as a Paladin lvl.66, as a Ranger lvl.56 or as a Ninja lvl.34 and no such luck. In some cases I have left my Ranger overnight with the flag up while I went to bed and next morning when I went to check for /tell chat mssgs invites, there were none, and no, I wasn't Anon. either.

Also in your case since you say that you play in the morning, that's JP time for a lot of JP players and usually if they see that you're american, they either will ignore your (Hello) (Party) (Do you need it?) mssgs or bypass you when they see the "E" next to your name, one more reason why I never try to look for party in the mornings during weekdays anymore if I'm home, if I happen to get an invite I'll gladly accept it, but this kind of bias is slowly taking this game away from its original purpose of being a shared multi-platform where all will join parties regardless of Creed, Sex, Language or Religion.

You might also encounter those that speak your language too, but rather have a 2x Rng, Blm, Rdm, Tank, Whm setup or anything similar, simply overlooking the sheer destructive power that a Mnk has to offer to a party, this is mostly based on ignorance, as the above paragraph is based on some sour encounters that unfortunately have spread out among earlier JP/NA parties, shutting down the opportunity of those that came late into the game to interact more as the game was intended to be in the beggining.

Don't get me wrong I have gotten in some JP only parties, where the exp was great, the understanding in communicating wasn't present, the auto-translate few phrases that came to mind were few, but overall they were just regular parties same as the all NA that I usually get to party with, full of regular people.

Only advice that I could give you is to open your possibilities in gameplay by not limiting yourself to only playing Mnk, you might probably wanna take Mnk to end game as your main, But if you are not getting invites as you would like based on some of the reasons stated above but that might not included most,... Take another job to lvl as a side hobby just to break from the routine, and I say another job since it seems to me that you already doing quests, crafting etc, as per your post indicate, see my Sig, I got 3 jobs that I lvl depending on how the invites are coming my way and my lvlng mood, I stopped paladin at lvl.64 and got Rng to lvl.55 basically, before I went back to get my paladin to lvl.66.

So just don't give up, broaden your choices, there's a whole world in Vanadiel waiting for you and if I see you looking for party an invite might come your way, good luck.

heh, that's kinda funny DV... cause the most common time I get invites for my 43smn/21whm is early morning before work when I just log in to check delivery box and put more stuff on AH... I'm online for 10 min tops and I get an invite... yet when I get home from work and have 4-8 hrs to dedicate to the game... nothing...

I really REALLY wanna find that Murphy and get him to take back his law... or at least have Ifrit use Burning Strike on him regardless.

Yes, the climb to lvl 60 was very treacherous for me. When i gotten the first time lvl 60 i was so thrilled, but i never got to enjoy 5 seconds of it because before yoou know it there was a Peryton behind me and poking my back to death. Before the tank could voke the peryton tripled attacked for 600 dmg after taking 2 250+ crit hit attack.

Regardless i died, and deleveled. That's when things went downhill.... The next 4 days i died, no exp but just death, regardless to say i deleveled back to 58....I was so freaking pissed.

I decided to take a break from this game and when i came back i felt new and refreshed and before i knew it in 1.5 weeks i got lvl 60 back and im wearing that awesome looking Drachen armet.

Well, what im trying to say don't let these things stop you, MAKE A PARTIE YOURSELF. I made parties all the way through lvl 50-57.

I can feel your pain man. Honestly.I just hit 60MNK myself not too long ago and it was by NO means easy. I've gone 3 solid days of lfg w/o one tell. It's frustrating to see everyone else fly passed you.

One question, do you advertise your gear in your search comment? I've found this can make a HUGE difference. Also, as a monk, know what you bring to the party outside straight punching. Impaction is an important SC while fighting crabs (actually better than distortion but that's another thread) and Raging Fists is a solid closer for that.

The best thing to do is just keep your head up. You are in probably the worst time possible for a monk, but the good news is, it's almost over. I'm still at 60 because once I finally got here, I could sit back and breath easy again. LoL. I'm now waiting for some friends to catch up that I'm going to SP with.

Take DarkVlade's advice, if you get frustrated, break out a lower level job. It's a good way to break the frustration of no PT invites. You'll probably have more days of frustration like that but then you'll get a string of good luck and start raking in 10-20k exp a night for a week.

Hang in there! You've come this far you might as well push on through. :-b

speaking of MNKs

Aireiya, the 75 MNK in our LS had the best FFXI day ever monday night. We where doing our monday night sky run. Aire got Byakko's Haidate, Indra Katars from steam cleaner, and got the V-claw drop to make his scorpion harness. Now thats a cool day to be MNK.
grats aire.

Smithing started on the path to 25+ ^_^
Better than standing around {/check}ing people.

I spent 1months with my 51MNK, with only one invite(i quit mnk right after it, for my third time). The invite was for me to tank crabs in kuftal. I depleted taru whm and smn on me. Then i gave up and started my rdm again. But i am saving gil to start mnk again on the side, Got one part for Black Belt already, and Abj for Shura Suna-ate.

I've had no problems getting invited since I was lv38. I have to stop now though..cause I'll be moving soon and when I come back, I have to lvl my SJ and save up for erase..(/joy).

And the invites I were getting were from people needing a whm-replacement, or a needing one badly. But PLD is the job that is very hard to get and for ALL my PT's since 38, PLD's were the hardest to get. And when we finally got one we have to REALLY grind for as much xp as possible cause they often never have much time left to play. Once they leave, the PT disbands cause no replacement.
