Ordelle's Cave Gil-sellerFollow

Well after much ******** to the GM's they finally banned the gil-sellers from Ordelle's Cave: Royan, Creice, Annreid, and Mathew.

My friend Giabra and I complained to the GM, but i delivered a speech to the GM's.... a long one i might add. Ill see if i can get pics of the convo for you guys.

But now another group of gil-sellers went in the caves, but they aren't much of a challenge.

So people that need Archer's ring to get sniper's ring: "GO GO GO GO farm some Stroper Chyme."

how come anyone that camps anything is automatically a gill seller? I have a freind that camps those alot, I wonder if he is has been deemed a gill seller by now. The drop rate on those rings are so low , if i was gonna sell gill i think id farm rabbit hides and crystals in west ron before I camped SC

That depends... does he have gear as if it were a job he actually cared about? or is it just his character, some job and no gear? If I see a lvl 60 running around in level 20 something armor I'm going to be suspicious... especially if that person is ALWAYS there. If I see a lvl 60 running around with a Vermillion's Cloak and astral rings etc... I'm going to assume that the person is farming for gil with intent to further improve gear/spells/character.

Personally, I've never cared to camp they Chyme as I've gotten him a few times and nothing... I think I might have gotten one slime oil out of a dozen claims... Thanks, but I'll spend my time doing something else. Therefore, I don't know if said players mentioned in OP had cheap gear or not... but it doesn't make sense, to me, for a gil-seller to have uber expensive gear that normal players saught after soo badly. This includes, and is not limited to: NM dropped items, JSE, RSE, AF, etc... Any type of gear with prestigue, hard work and/or gil invested.

It is sometimes really hard to proof if someone is really doing that. Is that a known thing people do -- yes, but to say someone is doing that with 100% confidence is nearly impossible. The only way to proof that will require SE probe data in the user's computer -- which is also illegal.

Whether to take action against someone without 100% confidence is another issue, but the modern "Rule of Law" is "Proof beyond doubt." Yes, it sucks if someone is really botting VE, but you better show the GM the best possible evidence that they are doing that. Sometimes, there is a lot situations that GM cannot do anything about it -- GMs also play the game, and they are aware of the situtation to certain degrees.

VE is not easy to Packet Sniff, but I can see it can be done, because of a relatively larger spawn area. But for stronger HNM (with a narrower spawn area), I think that is easier.

IMO, I feel sad people that resorts to dirty tactics to lay claim on NMs. The best thing you can do is to uphold the rules to yourselfs. Game world is not perfect. If no one buys gil, then they will be no suck things going on. Too bad, there are gil buyers, and there will be supply.

ok, maybe they're not gil-sellers... but can you explain how the ones in Ordelles constantly sell Ochuido's Kote and the ones in the castle pretty much own the market on archer's rings? Seems to me like a cheap attempt to throw some confusion around.

Is it really illegal to do that? and if so under which countrys laws? SE is a Japanese company based in Japan so it would not be bound by any US or EU privacy laws, I don't know anything about Japanese law so it is possible they would be allowed to probe data.

I will have to read all that small print in the Terms and Conditions.

The ability for rival hunters to magically know where the spawn point will be doesn't automatically mean a packet sniffer. Accurate identification and timing of placeholders is the key. (Sadly 24 hour spawns have no placeholder, and stroper chymes arn't NM ^^ )

The first step is to narrow down the placeholders. Certain NM have telltale signs that mark placeholders for NM. A common example, when hunting the kotes there is a yag that can walk on water, while others follow a more strickly bound placement and patrol zone. This yag has a chance each time of becoming the NM 5 hours (game time) after his last death. For VE, I believe there are only 4 placeholders to watch for. The same is true with lizzie from what I have heard, but I have never logged the time there to find out.

I've had success lately (or have been fantastically lucky) using the philosophy that I am agressively hunting the placeholders and not the NM. I treat each placeholder as a mini-NM with a smaller spawn zone and log each TOD. A lot more work then sitting in the middle of the area and watching widescan, but it lets you be a seemingly lucky "right place at the right time" camper. Consistently.

Killing a placeholder fast (in a few seconds if needed) or delaying its death lets you control each time of death and spread them out over a mangable time so you can finish up with one and be ready for the next. Rival hunters that kill things slowly drive me insane because it screws up my TOD sequence ; ; Plan on a 10 second kill and less then a minute between placeholder spawns. If possible try to co-ordinate their respawn times so you can hit each mini-zone in an easy clockwise manner ^^

So if you can manipulate when (and where, to a small extent) each placeholder pops and are killing 80% of the them, an NM like the VE will become a lot more manageable. From an outsiders perspective you magically run to a spot and the NM suddenly pops just for you...

of course it's not 100%, but it's more along the lines of a talented card counter gambling with the odds in their favor as much as possible. Knowing key palceholder traits would be like playing with marked cards as well, if you were to continue that analaogy ^^

Long story short, the gil sellers hunt NM far more often then you or I do (it bores me to death so I hunt random NM while LFG) but they will know with absolute certainty the placeholder order and any other little tricks/patterns that may exist for each NM. I'm sure some do cheat (the ground gods and argus hunters apparently) but for the most part they are really, really good at what they do. They do this for a living remember.

(PS my above farming style was just an example.. it works great on some NM, others have different approaches. All I'm saying is learn all you can about an NM and its placeholder nuances... The forums have tips and tricks for the popular ones. The gil farmers specialize in a few key ones and have killed them, or seen them killed literally hundreds of times so they will have an edge on casual campers.)
