Collection for Sairyu?Follow

#1 May 18 2005 at 4:04 PM Rating: Good
Bah, rate me down if you're a heartless *******... I do not care. However, it has come to the attention of myself, and I'm sure others on the cerberus boards, that Sairyu (a friend of mine as well as others here) has been screwed out of not one priceless piece of equip... but two...

First, the Haubergeon... then the Kraken club.

Now there's no way I can remotely come close to gathering enough gil to replace both of those items... However, I do know that if that were to happen to me and I lost those pieces both in the same week... I'd be ready to leave the game... and I'd rather not see Sairyu part because a couple jerks had to teach him a hard learned lesson. ; ;

I'd like to start a pool for getting Sairyu SOME gil back just to help him remember not everyone is against him and that we (or maybe just myself) don't want him to leave. I'm not going to step forward and say I'm taking a collection... I don't want to be a middle man... instead, I will be sending some gil to Sairyu from my own bank and hope maybe others will be as heartfull and as giving to Sairyu as well. Flame me all you want for giving up some of my gil to correct someone else's mistake... but I consider it an investment as it will pay for itself if Sairyu decides to stay.

You don't need to reply to this at all in general, and you might think "Good for you Nebz! Here's a cookie /endsarcasm." or "Did you want a medal or something?" or something along those lines... but that's not the point of this post... It is to plant the seed of the idea into others minds who are currently thinking: "Poor Sairyu". The main reason is because pitty and empathy are nice, but they don't replace that HUGE void of those items worked so hard to obtain.

It's a very kind sentiment, however Sairyu is a pretty wealthy guy so it's more upsetting than pocket breaking.

The loss of trust is more dissapointing than the loss of the actual items IMO...but you'd have to get Sairyu's direct opinion on that one.

Sairyu is a well-known participant in RMT activites Nebz. I'm don;t think he needs, or deserves, your help.

I lost a lot of respect for you Jeryhn based on that posting. I haven't known Sairyu long but I've seen nothing to indicate he takes part in RMT. If you're going to make accussations you best have something to back them up. Which I'm going to bet you don't or you would have done a GM call on Sairyu and he'd be gone.

i don't know or care how sairyu gets his gil, but the more important issue is that he was stolen from by somebody he considered a friend.. if anybody here knows sairyu, you know he helps people basically all day and is really nice/etc.. whatever..

so everybody knows, the scumbags name is smitz.. he's a blm taru

Real Money Transaction.

The buying or selling of gil.

Whether or not he participates in RMT is not even relevant to the question here, anyway.

Whether or not he participates in RMT doesn't change the fact that he is one of the wealthiest persons in-game on Cerberus.

Therefore, he definitely doesn't need our help for that.

The actions the alleged thief did go beyond the monetary value of the stolen item, and so simply funding another Kraken Club doesn't solve the problem either way.

That you like Sairyu or not is not relevant to the matter. No matter who would have been the victim, this kind of situation is sickening to an online community.

However, comforting Sairyu and MK over spilt milk won't solve anything. Flaming Smitz won't solve anything. What's done is done. Sairyu will most definitely be more careful about who he can trust in MK. As for Smitz, he has tarnished his name badly enough. There is nothing else that we can do.

Please just do as what was asked. Leave Smitz alone. Don't do anything to him, and don't do anything for him, either.

Like mentionned earlier, it's time to hand waffles.

I hope karma gives smitz' kraken club latent effect: +50 guilt; +100 Bad Luck.

Well I asked, he admits to buying gil... Denies buying his account. Having done things with him if he bought his account I'd be surprised.

Jeryhn, please accept my appologies for thinking you were spouting unfounded accusations.

Guess I'm looking for a new linkshell, RMT just doesn't fit into why I play the game or what I want out of it.

If that's what you'd like to call it... but apparently this isn't the first thread with a moron that has to give his/her useless two cents. The fact that Sairyu is substantially wealthy has been made apparent to me in this post... AFTER my uneditted OP.

However, since you'd like to address my OP... let's... Are you too narrow-minded to stop and look at it from another perspective? Or are you like our great president and have the problem of seeing only one logical POV... your own? I'm glad you knew Sairyu had/has a ton of gil (or learned that from reading this thread, like myself)... but are you too simple to think that I was caring for a friend and not a player... that wealth has nothing to do with integrity...

Kiss ***? of who? and for what? To Sairyu? so he won't leave? Yea... then I guess I would be a kiss *** to a good minority (if not greater population) of Cerberus if push came to shove. Besides, not like I've logged into Cerberus recently and saw a server message of "Sairyu is today's largest gil holder." or "Sairyu makes another 15 mil today!". If that is not the Sairyu I once knew and shared fond moments in game with... then I could careless... but the fact he/she has gil does not elude the fact that NO ONE deserves to take such a loss.

Eh, maybe I care for friends more than you can comprehend... I've always believed a friend is the person who is walking in to help when everyone else is walking away, leaving your stuck... and Sairyu has not done anything to make me turn my back on him. IMO, the only problem with suggesting this donation for Sairyu is he already has enough money he does not need the donation. However, had it been an average player (as I had thought when originally posting), it would have been a great show of sportmanship and character... obviously something you seem to lack by your statement... or is that just the lil green eye'd monster sayin all that stuff?

certainly sucks that this has heppened, sairyu was a nice guy regardless of weather or not he he gets his gil through RMT.
but when you invite every high level on the server that will join, regardless of their reputation, how good of a player they are, or how much effort they have out into making their character better, then things like this are bound to happen if you let them. people like smitz being in MK (there are nore bad ones then just him IMO)are the reason im not in it, nothing good can come out of letting bad people/players like him join your Ls.
personaly i am not the least bit supprised that smitz did this, he is an a**hole and has very little respect for other players. and obviously he is pretty stupid, cause sairyu is fairly well known on cerberus and only the stupidest of people would think they could steal from him without the entire server knowing what happened. and to my understanding the club was lent to sairyu by another Ls member, so unless ownership of that club has changed since i dropped my MK pearl, sairyu isnt the one you should be /comforting or starting a collection for.
#21 May 20 2005 at 12:31 PM Rating: Decent
And it kind of sucks, he doesn't have nearly as much money you think he does.

You have good intensions but the person you should be helping is raviont. After this whole thing he has been rilly down about it and hardly gits on ff any more.

As far as RMT i dont bother my self w/ what other people choise to do thats there business, and ls bank/money dose not belong to one sigle person it is used for buying cursed gear and paying for dynamis.
#24 May 23 2005 at 5:06 PM Rating: Default
Raviont and smoking are the only owners of that club, not Sairyu, everyone looks at Sairyu like he is the victim but all Sairyu did was let someone borrow something that didnt belong to him, Sairyu should be the one responsible, he should sell his gear and payback Raviont.

Goob guy or bad guy, Gil buyer or not, what Sairyu did was wrong he gave away something that didnt belong to him, he needs to pay Raviont back i think.
#25 May 23 2005 at 6:29 PM Rating: Decent
So you're also saying that it's my fault for trusting someone with my Haubergeon and that I should sell my gear to get a new one? All my items total don't even net 2 million.
#26 May 24 2005 at 6:45 AM Rating: Default
What im saying is: You should do something to recompensate Raviont, and yes it is your fault that you trusted a stranger with something that was not yours.
