Double Attack is just awesome for a monk. To have Double Attack, Kick Attacks, and Haste, I'll out parse a LOT of DDs. I've doubled the TP gains of RNGs (yes I've been out TPed by them too LoL), I've had my WSes hit harder than them, I've kept up with some really good DDs of other jobs. With my lower delay weapons, brown belt, and RDM haste, I've had a Double Attack + Kick attack kick in (5 hits when you get lucky) and as soon as that was done, I was right into my next series so I popped off 8 hits in a row. What other DD can do that? :-b

Understood too, i feel the same way. Double Attack is just awesome, and the loss of Berserk is really hard. Hitting for 40-60 with GS is not fun, instead of my 100-130 with Berserk + Scythe.
But.. just go try /thf one of this days, and do SATA Dragon Kick and check out the ws and sc damage, then you won't want to sub /war again unless there's another melee, not your WAR friend, and you won't be able to close Light.
MNKs, DRKs and THFs are Light closers, the best way to close a skillchain is to stack Sneak Attack with your weaponskill.
Well at the end what's more important (in my case) to hit for 110 and then do a 500-600 Spinning Slash that could miss with a very crappy Light for 200?
Or.. doing ***** dmg per hit 50~ and then putting up a 1000-1200 Spinning Slash, that won't miss unless i friggin mess up or the mob runs away, and then a Light for 500-1200?
Just think about it, sometimes a kill the mobs with half HP, and the BLM can't even MB.
We should oncentrate on gaining TP, it doesn't matters if your punches and kicks sucks, what matters is the skillchain, sometimes not even the MB lol
