i've been sitting on the fence for awhile now but i've suddenly been tipped over to one side. i think i'm about to delete my character. this game, although showing me some great times and allowing me to meet some cool people, has taken enough time out of my life. but like the subject says, the decision isn't quite final. just leaning towards there... i dunno how many of u care. haha. just thought i'd let that small handful of people out there who do know me that i may be saying farewell soon...

I don't think I know you, but best of luck in your RL endeavours.

I'm not trying to make you choose one way or another, but why not try to stop playing for a while instead of deleting it? I stopped for over two months before coming back. Now I don't play anywhere near what I used to, but that's a good thing.

I understand that you feel you have "wasted" too much time here, and if that feeling is strong, then I would leave too. If you find yourself so addicted to the game so that you still play after trying to quit for a while, again, I would leave.

The reason I left is because of this, I found that I could manage my time better in FFXI than real life. When I realized that, I quit. Now when I play, I don't just walk into the door and plop myself in front of the screen for hours. I try to think of things I should do first, and set my priorities.

This game has actually helped me set my priorities straight.

Whatever you choose, I hope you the best of luck... do your best.

I advise you think this through first before deleting. I've come further than my previous character, but I'm still feeling the effects of what was lost to me that I can't get back. You must be absolutely sure you want to quit. That means nothing in the game that will tempt you into coming back at all.

Don't hit delete character. Hit cancel content ID. I made that mistake before unfortunately. If you need to come back then you reactivate the content ID.

I'm very well known for taking 2 months break every so often. I was in school and I knew I was taking time off to play FFXI instead of doing my assignments and studying for tests.

I'm slowly trying to transition to FFXI every other day instead of every day. Good thing I don't need to take care of a family, but I've got friends I need to stay in touch with.

It seems that you have put alot of effort into your character. It would be a shame to delete all of that, especially if you will have regrets.

Take some time off of the game and prioritize your in-game time in such a way that your are more happy.

But, if you are not having fun with the game: that is another story. Fun is, hopefully, why most people play. Maybe some diversity in your character or scheduling play time that fits into your RL schedule. I don't know the asnwer for your, but deleting is drastic and permanent. O.O

Whatever you do, have fun!

i've taken tons of 3 month breaks. right now i'm at a point in my life where i need to pay attention to other things and not be drawn back to this game. it's suuuuch a distraction. i don't regret the times i've spent on ffxi. i just think i've hit the point where it's time to stop playin around. the next little while could very well determine the rest of my life, so i think it's time
