SubligarKnights LS Now Inviting.Follow

#1 Jun 23 2005 at 10:20 PM Rating: Decent
The SubligarKnights is a new linkshell containing members from level 1 all the way to level 75. It doesn't matter whether you're a newbie, or a veteran, we're inviting anyone who is interested in joining. It's more of a social linkshell purely for the fun of the game and maybe a few adult-jokes >.>, but we're also there to help our members with anything they need.

If you're interested in joining the linkshell, send a /tell to Windycheeks, Danyu, Buttmunch, Teeree, Sugah, or Sorviena, or just leave a post, and I'll get in touch with ya.

Good luck with your new LS, Danyu!

Yeah we're inviting ALL who want in into the linkshell. Its alot of fun. We had a nice LS SP the other night in Yhoater Jungle. We also use a Teamspeak server that I host off of my PC that anyone in the linkshell has access too. It makes the game alot more fun in my opinion.

I'll have to beat you if you take another that's not BladeSingers. :-b LoL j/k

Yeah we use Team Speak also. It does add another level to the game (I'm used to XBox Live so it was second nature. LoL). It's nice to host a channel for our SP when we're out leveling.

EDIT: A word of advice if I may. When doing the "Open Shell" policy one thing I've found to be critical to success is to implement a Code of Ethics per se, and not hesitate to remove the leechers/bad seeds.

I've seen a few LSes fail when going to Open Shell because they were afraid to remove the problem people. Losing one or two problem people is much better than having all the good members walk due to those people. Just make sure you're fair about it. :-b

Kicking people is not easy.

The person who get kicked sometimes will take it very personally and spread inaccurate account in what had happened. And sometimes quicker to blame the LS than themselves. People need to take responsiblity for their own action more than to blame others for what is happening ><

About having more LS pearls >< It will be my honor to have a pearl, but right now I have like 6-7 pearls already, so you may not see me a lot (I am mostly on KTO or HoE). But I will come on the LS if needs to.

Ama that is exactly why we have a disciplinary action set of rules. As much as I hate "rules" in a game, they are needed with an LS our size.

We have a set warning system that stays documented so we know when, why, and what someone was warned for. If they reach their 3rd warning, they are removed. If it is a very serious offense (ie. threatening someone, etc) they are removed immediately.

We don't remove people for no reason and people are given a fair warning. If removed, they are not removed without understanding why it was done.

By no means was I saying to get boot happy, but you have to be firm about how some things are handled. Someone that is constantly negative and brings down the LS, will do just that.

The unfortunate part about leadership is having to be the person that stands up and takes action when needed, even when it's not the "popular" decision. You have to think on what's best for the whole.

It boils down to not to let people into your LS easily. A lot of problems can be avoided by not handing out LS pearls freely. I know there are people that are constantly trying to find out which is the "hot" LS right now, and try to get in such LS. IMO that is the type of people that one need to be more careful with in terms of giving out pearls.

We do have a set Rules of Conduct to the Linkshell. And I have these rules posted on a site, But I have yet to upload the site to the net. Been having some problems with the Graphics not looking quite right. And we have the same kind of rules as in kicking someone from the shell. We give warnings. And If someone is kicked there must be a 3/3 vote of sacks in order to kick or even decide on kicking someone. I hate to kick someone from a linkshell. I think some shells Kick too freely without getting the whole picture or story straight. I was kicked from a certain shell I wont mention here and then blacklisted by the leader( who didnt even bother asking me what happened or why he was kicking me ) . And I dont want that happening to SubligarKnights.

There are also some LSs that have one (the shell holder) or two people just hold absolute power in deciding who can be in the LS. Either way, it is usually better to have no more 2-3 people to decide who should be in or out. It may sound like a dictorship, but I think LSs like that tend to be more successful (when leadership is well defined).

About rule of conduct... There is a ancient Chinese phrase:
"Let reduce the law only to three!"
(It is actually said by the first emperor of Han Dynasty)

Rules are better to simple and straightforward + one extra important rule:
"LS leaders reserve the right to remove certain members for reasons outside the rule of conduct."

Hurray to Vana'Diel's Dictators!!!! ;)
