I had a run in with some obnoxious players and I feel like its worthy of its own thread. Pt'n in Kuftal the other night lvls 70-72 arond 1am est., when our Pld gets D/c. We r patiently waiting for his return, when all of a sudden a bunch of footsteps appear, and a pt lands right on top of us. I litteraly mean on top of us!! My pt is figuring that they are just re-sneaking and invising up, but No. All players are JP or E. Asian, /ANON, and have crap gear. We instantly figure out that they are Gil Sellers. In the mean time Pld never shows up. They start to xp but the puller has no clue what he/she is doing, gets a link and dies instanly. We are thinking this blows b/c its friday night and no other camps are free. Someone in the pt says "When they begin to fight again, pull a Landon and I'll Escape us". The pt is like good idea, and for the first time in my FFXI career I'm thinking "hellz yeah MPK sounds good right about now :P Since we had no tank and escape takes a while to cast, we decided against it. Obviously it's never acceptable to MPK anyone, but since we had to disband b/c there were no other camps available anywhere, would it have been understandable had we gone through with it? What would you have done?

MPKing (anyone) is against TOS, while camping ontop of any PT is not against the rules (yes, it is rude, but no rules are broken).

There are actually a few camps in Kuftal to move around, so you should be able to find a room down there. If those guys (who camped on top of you rudely) do not know how to pull, then let them die.... FYI, you also do not have the responsibility to raise them. I do I have admited that I have raised people I do not like, but that is me being nice, I have no responsibility to raise him/her.

Trust me there were no other camps in Kuftal. There were 5 pts fighting ***** and Tigers b4 they came. We were having downtime waiting for respawn as it was. 90% of the time I would turn the other cheek and make the most out of the situation, but I was seriously offended b/c I have a very limited amount of time that I can dedicate to a Party. When I am forced to call it a night, b/c of someone elses rudeness, I think they deserve whatever they get.

When you see a place is crowded, it may have been a better idea not to go there to begin with.

For your level, you can also do (apart from Sky) Ul. Range and Bibiki Bay (the deepest part when the Fishermen Gobs are), and also Lufaise Meadows.

Sometimes it is good to go out and adventure a bit to see where is good place to leve ^^

Rude players will continue to exist, there is nothing you can do about it. Just let them be, and do what is good for your own PT and fun. I know people will not move camp because they think they are entitled to fight for it... Let me leave you one line (kind of distorted from the original text) from the Art of War from Sun Tzu,

"You fight a war for a reason and for gain. If you can win without a fight, that is the best solution."

Would I do that? Probably not. I'm not a strong believer in the whole MPKing thing. I believe when people take it to that level it brings all those involved to a negative point in the game (If that makes any sense). Yes, camping right on top of you is rude, and shouldn't have been done, but you could display your feelings to them using /emotes etc. Or even let your linkshell and friends know who the idiots are.

Besides, you don't need me to tell you this, because you already know that. You said it yourself.

I'm sure you were upset when this was happening and when you posted this thread. A lot of people regret what they do in anger, and I know if I would've MPKed them, I would've regretted it. But thats just me. Though think about it now, you should be a little cooled off. Would you have done it if you had a tank right now? Would you think you honestly accomplished anything solid by doing that?
