Emps pin, Leaping boots, New rare/ex ItemsFollow

#1 Jul 18 2005 at 1:47 PM Rating: Decent
Personly I like what they did. I don't know how other will feel. But if the new rare/ex items are just as good it will give many new players a chance to get items they really want/need. Plus maybe just maybe it will slow gil sellers down depending where they put emps pin ect. Haha that botter guy in dunes is gonna be pissed.

when did emp hairpin and leaping boots go rare/ex? o.0;;

#4 Jul 18 2005 at 2:51 PM Rating: Decent
lol emps pin, leaping boots, peacock charm, ect didn't go rare/ex they just moved them to another place and put rare/ex items in there place at the NM's who used to drop them that aresupposed to be just as good. As for the emps pin ect I don't think it will lower in price if anything they will go up in price since they are the originals.

Why isn't speed belt on the list. Its more monopolized than any of the items on that list...

I've gotten claim on Argus, Eastern Shadow, and hundreds of Stroper Chimes... But Nirvana claims King Artho every time I'm there. The items they adjusted were not even close to as monopolized as speed belt.

Don't get me wrong I think this is a good thing, I just think they should have done it with items that were much more monopolized.

noisea, I would like to help you with that crab if you'd like...

I can do 53smn/20bst and charm the pop to claim it as fast as provoke... I wouldn't mind giving you the speed belt if I could have any remote shot at the damascene cloth as I still need 3 to make my vermillion's cloak. Problem is I never know if I'm going to play from day to day... it all depends on my mood.

May be Speed Belt is not monoplozied in other servers?

If changes are too dramatic in terms of making things rare-ex, it may actually harm the game economy than helping it, by greatly depreciating the economic value of item and reducing in-game trade.

I understand what your issue with that certain JP player you have -- I have camped that before with you like once or twice. Monopolization of NMs are not just the practice of that certain person/group. As far as I know, all the dragons in our server are closed to be monopolized by NA LS, and JPs rarely stands a chance (I know a few JPs tried to camp Fafnir against Littlebear's LS and KoN, the JPs never win the pop...) Should they complain too? I understand the frustration >< but I hope I have something better to say.

I think the current adjustment will already have quite an impact to game economy, let just wait and see what happenes next with the current changes are implemented.

Na.... It may not change at all or even the price may fall... It really depends on how they are changing it. Wait and see, my friend ;)

Well Amanada, I never would imply that it had anything to do with him being JP. I don't even accuse him of botting... Who knows, maybe he's just the luckiest person on the server. I don't deny that NA players monopolize too. If I kill a 21-24 hour NM with no winesses I usually come back the next few days as well and keep killing it until I have some kind of schedule conflict that prevents me from making the window. But there's a point where I stop... Some people just don't stop. Making the item rare/ex ensures that the same people will eventually move on to other things. That's all I want anyway.

Personally I don't care if rare/ex items throw off the economy, even though I don't think they would shake it up too bad. The fact is that getting an item as a drop is much more rewarding to me. I am much prouder of an item I got as a drop than an item I farmed for. I can remember the moment that item showed in my treasure and my log. Thinking back to endless hours (weeks for certain items ><) farming to save up for a purchase doesn't have the same effect...

I have no illusions that making an item like that would make it "easy" to claim. The truth is that I'm sure more people would end up camping it - not less. But it would be fair. Once Nirvana and all his friends had a rare/ex belt they could move on and let someone else play.

Speed belt is monopolized on every server according to rl friends on other servers and from reading forums. It may not be the most monopolized item in the game, but its a lot higher on the list than the items being affected by the update. Lets hope this is just the beginning of many many updates like this.

Amanada thank you for helping camp KA with me I do remember and appreciate it.

Nebz thank you for the offer to help, camp him, but I'm done. Until the item is rare/ex I will not own it. Camping it is a waste of time, and I will not buy an item so heavily monopolized because of my ethical beliefs.

Nebz if you need a crafter for your V cloak - I have made them before, just send me a tell.

Whether someone is botting or not, there are never 100% proof for that... But the existance of bots are beyond doubt.

It is like conspriacy theory, someone may be able to do something/group so regularly where luck and stats should indicate they are not able to. Of course, people that have maintained a monopoly do not really want competition, and pulling sometimes certain NMs do require legit skill, and people who have done it for long time will always get an advantage.

I hate to say that, but I do not what to suggest to do about monopolization. If hard-to-proof foul play is involved (game or RL), it is kind of like being tough lucked; neither you nor a GM/law enforcement can really do anything about it. If no foul play is involved, then one will have out-wit and beat the monopoly group with skill. A lot of people now accuse constant NM campers as "gil sellers", that is nothing more than demanding they to leave or handicap themselves even the camping group are legit -- something I found unfair actually to the camping group.

I thought that the Pin/Boots would drop either rare/ex or as a regular item after this update

The non-rare ex will be from quests and NMs that are different from now... The original NMs will drop rare-ex if I have not mistaken.

I just hope they adjusted the spawn times of the NM's to a little more frequent then before. otherwise, we still will be waiting a while for those well wanted similar items. I'm surprised the monster signa wasn't adjusted either (all though it is extreamly over rated) but i'm sure thats gonna be the next extreamly over priced item (i think it is already though).

I believe that the original items will be various BCNM drops, like Astral Rings. Quests are possiable, but that really depends on the stats of the new items being introduced. It can't be a repeatable quest, and it would have to be pretty difficult if the new items aren't better.

Prices will probably raise, rather than decline.
