IDK why im upset about this nor do I know why I wanted to go either but the next tour spot is Rochester ; ;. I lived in NY and I figured it would come here (is that a NY Greastest Place on Earth ego comment?) Well I still am young 16 in 20days so Its not like I can drive (nor would i drive that far for an FFXI convention). Anyways getting to the point why couldnt it come to NYC or close by, I live on Long Island so maybe I could take the train in or something.
although Rochester is a very Pretty city I went their for DECA state finals last year.

Lol you're in the same state and you're bitter at the distance?
Think of us poor fools who are 1000 miles away from a major city ^^ For me its a major road trip or a two hour flight to get to something as simple as a rock concert.
To get to something more specific like gencon, an anime convention, or a video game convention it is typically a 2 day road trip lol. And a lot of people still do it, surprisingly. (Personally I like the idea of live action mithra, but they arnt worth crossing a continent for ^^).
As for why rochester? Its a decent sized city and it probably costs half the amount to set up an event there (Especially with NYCs notorious unions. Surly men setting up trade show booths making more money then the engineers and sales reps who work in them ^^)

Very true I forgot about all those ppl out there in Montana or like West Virginia
I have cousins on Kodiak Island in Alaska and when I was up thier it was a 3day trip (2 on ferry 1 on train) after to the nearest theater.
Even though i was only thier for 2weeks but I could relate a tiny bit.
