I'm currently BRD59, will probably hit 60 tonight, so this is on my agenda soon. I'm posting this now to hopefully pull together some help for this by the time I'm 62 and can use this awesome BRD armor.
This armor drops from a NM in Sea Serpent Grotto. There is info on the NM here. I'm not after the Siren's hair. I know there are probably many who camp for that item and have no use for this bard gear.
There has to be someone who can assist me here. Please let me know.

As Far as I can tell, this is a Target of Oppurtunity on the way to Charbydis (sp). People going to camp for the Joyuese usually pick this guy off on their way through if he is up. One major thing you can do to help yourself out in this trek is, buy yourself a Gold Beastmen Coin, since you will need it to get through the door.
I dont have it yet and im not all that interested in it but I do know something that helps.
Gilsellers camp it (well idk how many camp it anymore cause I heard soemthing about a big banning of gilsellers). I think 2 BRDs in my LS have gotten theirs by doing this, just /tell the camppers and ask them if you can lot the BRD Armor. Easy way to get it all u gotta do is play a minuet or something and maybe skill up ur sword a bit if u can hit it. Only prob is u gotta be down there awhile cause its a 2-5hr pop and its definently not a 100% drop.

i was 1/4 on drop~ what i had a neeeenja help me (me being 75 whm already we were able to duo it) what i did was talked to the Gilseller while camping asking if they got claim can they invite me for the coat, and they're fine with that np~ (plus if Borlife is camping, he has TH3 :P)
tho at the end didn't get it from them but still, increases your chance of obtaining :P
camping wise this nm is easy, it spawns from only one PH. so keep track of the ToD of the PH and you'll know when the next time it spawns (16 mins repop time, so after killing it you can just relax for 15 mins then get prepared and spam voke or something )
i find that siren hair seems to drop more frequent than the coat >_> good luck~ :P

Seems it will be best to hang out at the spawn point begging campers for the coat drop. As BRD60/WHM30, how much aggro will I have to worry about at that camp? I will also be sure to get a gold beastcoin for this venture.

Hmmm those mobs will definetly aggro you.
I know they are EP to 75 cause a 75THF/NIN can solo the sahanagin (sp). So just keep sneak up and ur golden. U dont even need a gold beastcoin if ur real poor just wait by the door til someone else opens it.
