After getting ToAU specifically for the BLU job, I set off on a mission to get BLU. Finally, after obtaining the job, I must say I'm glad I did. Not only can I still solo T's and get exp chain #2's (while solo) at lvl 16 & 17 (currently lvl 18), but it makes a better sub for "Wings of Fury" bcnm20 than whm does.
I've done bcnm20 "Wings of Fury" a few times solo. With whm sub, with nin sub and now with blu sub. Whm sub is nice cause I can heal myself, but that's kinda it... that's all the MP I use is healing... so if I brought a drink, most of it would go to waste... if I didn't, I'd run out of mp... either way, I used 6-8 hi-pots as a whm sub. As a nin sub, I had to use too many hi-pots.... I would bring an inventory with at least 24 hi-pots. Some times I'd leave with some left, other times I ran out... any spares would be stored on my mule for later use tho.
Finally, I tried bst/blu the other day. I figured with +2 CHR from setting blu spells, metallic body, cocoon and pollen, I had a pretty good shot. Well, I don't think any hi-pots would have been required if I got my macro's to act right. Instead, I hit "Metallic Body" macro rather than the "fight" macro to command my pet Furies to fight the colo-colo... instead, I kept the colo's hate and began casting a spell that takes too long to be interrupted. I hit the wrong macro twice, but after I got the fight macro right and used hi-pots to bring myself back up into white HP... I needed no more than pollen.
All in all, I used 1x pamama aulait, 2x yagudo drinks, 4x hipots and a tav taco. Again, the hi-pots wouldn't even be in there if it weren't for the macro complication... but had I not had any JIC, I would not have survived...
Here's the fight video
The video is a lil over 40 megs, so please save to your PC and play it from your drive rather than playing it from the link. Also, if you cannot see the video, you should download and install the divx codec from here. Finally, there is no sound on the video... FRAPs has a problem recording sound after I stop recording my first video upon openning FRAPs. In order to record with sound again, I'd have to close and restart FRAPs... which I could not do in battle.
