Need a World Pass to join friend, but...Follow

Ive recently rejoined the game, having left for about a year. I joined the military so i havent had much time lately, but im stationed in Japan now and im trying to get on a server with a buddy, but hes currently on deployment, and i wont be able to talk to him for another month or so. Id like to get on and do some leveling before he gets back, otherwise i probably wont even play the game. If anyone can help that would be great.
