I find it interesting that the couple Republicans here who've expressed an opinion seem to dislike not only Trump but Cruz and Rubio as well. Who would you guys have liked to see win (out of the declared candidates, not dream guys who never ran)?

Rand Paul, as much of a pipe dream as that is.

If not him, I actually think Jeb! was a solid candidate, but was sunk both by the weight of his surname and his refusal to participate in some of the complete insanity at the debates (which is also why Kasich is doing so poorly). Vowing to turn the entire Middle East into a sheet of glass might be appalling, but saying nothing is a slow, quiet death.

Maybe that's the problem. Maybe you just need to get it over with and choose the greater evil for once.

Ben Carson says that he can see no path forward to the presidency after last night's losses.

...which seems to imply that he saw one on Monday?

That's not necessarily indicative; the south and cities are Clinton's best regions whereas Northeast and liberal suburban arr Sanders's.
But why is that? Because the South is more diverse. The only groups that he won was white men and young voters (who don't turn out). He needs to win more demographics to be competitive.

He is predicted to win or break even on NE & western votes.

There were a lot of southern states voting Tuesday.

However, he'll have to win them by more than polling suggests if he wants to overcome the dual albatrosses of super delegate math and the fact that black people hate him.

He said he sees no political path forward. He still hasn't ruled out a coup.

Which is ironic, considering that Clinton is only beating him in states that vote staunchly Republican in general elections. If the Democrats want to win in the general election, all signs point to Hillary being a sinking ship.

This is true not just because of super delegates, but because there aren't any "winner takes all states". That only proves the point that he only appeals to a small demographic. Those states that he is seen as winning aren't as diverse as the South. He'll lose in precincts that are mostly ethnic minority.

This isn't true. He just hasn't done anything to earn the vote in comparison.

Except have a record dating back to the 1960s that consistently shows he is on the right side of the civil rights movement.

I have no issues with calling drug cartels "super predators".

Okay, yes, Iowa and Virginia are swing states but Massachusetts is not. So, I'll stand by my argument all the same.

Winning a swing state matters more than winning Vermont or Minnesota (or Massachusetts) which are going to vote Democratic if you put an opossum on the ballot.

"Matters more" being relative. I don't think that primary returns are especially predictive of general election success in specific states. I don't think that Cruz would win Iowa in a November election, for instance.

MA was pretty even split on delegates. Also, our moneyed conservatives are democrats.

Regardless, the claim was that Clinton only won started which are "staunchly Republican" which is just inaccurate. It'll be less accurate after Clinton wins Democratic EV bedrock states like California, New York and Illinois but it wasn't accurate to begin with.

And rumors abound that Slick Willy was caught cock-blocking several polling stations which would have put a damper on some Sanders votes.
