Apperently New mexico legislatures are trying to require the installation of a $1000 alchohol breath tester in every vehicle in the state.
I personally would find that extremely annoying. For one, I rarely drink, and have never been in any drink related altercation. Yet were I to move to new mexico with this law in effect, i would have to breath into a tube every time I wanted to start my car.
Now don't get me wrong, having worked for the the Dept. of transportation and seeing all the safety issues that come to light there, and having been hit by a drunk driver in a car once myself, I am all for safety, but this si rediculous. The law would basically assume guilt until innocence is proven. What if it malfunctioned? Would the information be collected by the government? would my employeers get access to the logs?
I dunno. Discuss.
