This is why you can't believe a thing you hear from the media.

WHAT?!

You can't?

I try to take everything I hear with a grain of salt now a days. The news is just one side of the argument anyway.

Just an fyi for people who continuously feel the need to support their position with reports from nbc, abc, cbs, cnn, msnbc, pbs, npr and numerous other papers that espouse their agenda filled drivel.

It shows W. walking into a press conference, and all the reporters are sitting, then Obama walking into a press conference (in a different venue, mind), all the reporters standing, then him saying "please be seated."

It's sad watching these whitehouse reporters refuse to stand for W but jump up as quickly as possible for Obama.

I, for one, welcome our new liberal overlords and wish the best of luck in brainwashing us with their picture-tube mind-rays.

I want to take a guess and figure they have respect for one and not the other. W. wasn't well known for his congeniality with the press.

Just goes to show you, respect is earned.

Kael,

You realize these people are supposed to be reporters don't you? Of course you do you simply don't care to recognize that these are the same people that turned the country against W. The power of the press is a powerful tool.

Just look at how Obama is intimidating the chrysler execs.

Who cares? If you need to rely on ten seconds of YouTube footage to make the "liberal media!" look biased, I have to wonder why you couldn't make a much more powerful argument for it by using, you know, their reporting.

I didn't see a lonely Fox guy standing in that shot. Fox obviously hates Bush and loves Obama. Or maybe ther were other factors which don't disply in 10 seconds.

Any media?

How do you know those reporters that didn't bother standing up for Bush are the same ones that did stand up for Obama?

How does standing or not standing correlate with honesty?

What is your intent and purpose for the continued posting of meaningless crap?

Look, if you want to square off crazy conspiracy theories, fine, just say so, I want to get my hat first. Come off it man, W. turned the country against W.

And so is tossing one of their own on her ***. You can't expect serious respect when you bounce Helen Thomas because you don't like her questions. That speaks far more to likewise reporters in the White HOuse Press Corp.

Two factors: First, Obama's appearance was a surprise. Shock as much as anything else helped those reporters jump up. Second, by that point in his presidency, no one expected anywhere near a worthwhile quote from George W. Bush.

I would have chucked both my shoes at Bush given half a chance. Obama hasn't earned a flip-flop......yet.

Yep, the only REAL honest unbiased news comes from FOXnews and WorldNetDaily.

True facts.

Hi Hangten.

You might find that interesting. It's kinda long though.

The president isn't the goddamn king, or the Pope, or anything other than another elected official. The Founding Fathers deliberately eschewed that sort of ceremony (hence why the president is referred to as "Mr. President" and not "Your Excellency" or anything like that.) No man, woman, child, or dog is required to stand or sit for Obama or W except the official White House pets and children.

Sure, it's a sign of courtesy or respect to stand or sit, and it's even formalized protocol in the courtroom or in church. There's no formal protocol that says they have to do it for the President though, meaning the reporters did it out of their own free will either way.

Think of it as protected First Amendment speech, in nonverbal form.

I kinda vaguely hazily remember it from high school US history class. It was over a decade ago, so forgive me for not providing citations.

That's right any media be they fox news or cnn or whoever.

Once you begin to recognize that every single station and reporter has an agenda the better off you will be.

It just so happens that most of the media are liberal democrats. Who knows maybe that will change in the future.

It's a respect thing. Bush doesn't respect them, they don't respect him, yadda-yadda-yadda.
