You could make the argument that they would need to start enforcing the rules from the top down, starting in the gaming forums, then. I honestly don't think that much of what goes on in the OoT is any worse than what you see on a daily basis in the gaming forums. I hardly think that the site's Out of Topic forum should be stricter than the MMO Gaming forums.

And I basically agree with you, but we're not the one making the complaints that are driving the admins up the walls. If rules were enforced as written, those complaining would either not have anything to complain about or could be told that if they couldn't deal with the rules, that's their problem.

Because it's been done before? Because that's how we got here?

What's wrong with moving threads to the appropriate forum?

What's the point? It would be the same thing. The current OOT'ers don't want to move to the Asylum because they consider the OOT their home. How would they merge the two to make those folks suddenly want to post here and not in the Sandbox?

It seems to me the most logical solution would be enforcing the rules of the OOT by moving any and all posts that don't comply to here. Eventually, they'll get it.

So? The original Asylumites were THE orginal OOTers. Your argument isn't valid.

Merging/creating forums does fUck-all if the moderating stays inconsistent.

ETA: What is your argument for merging the forums and creating a new one, anyway? That it was done before? How well did it work out if we're basically in the same situation again? "Well, it didn't really work in the long run last time, so let's do it again!" Brill'.

I like how the natural progression of human grouping is actively discouraged by the administration. Eventually they will learn that this will always be the way things progress.

Actually, it worked for several years. But with everything, as time goes, it changes. The regular OOT'ers became more mature, which led to more racy and outrageous posting. Which finally led to the blowout we are seeing now. Change happens, get used to it.

Merging the forums and creating a new one isn't really change, though. It's just restarting the cycle. For there to be a change, the admins have to actually follow through and moderate.

I really don't give a **** what the fuck you say about senjow in here. Are there things you can say or do in Asylum that can get you banned? sure. But you really have to work to find them. Varrus can probably give you some pointers.

No, I had it right the first time. The OOT posters as a whole has matured and now needs something more than the OOT was originally created to provide.

And the right answer is to move threads to the right forum. There is no need to proliferate fora all over the place, as I said before, on a continuum of niceness.

Two levels should be fine: fluffy and fiery.

When people post the wrong thing in one, move it to the other. It's not a hard concept, really.

Except it would take a full time admin. Allakhazam isn't exactly fully staffed at the moment.

So would hypermoderating the Happy Fluffy Kitten forum. Either way someone is going to have to moderate.

As near as I can recall, the last time the oot had a specific moderator, it ended up with a lot of ***** being waved... everywhere, and I'm not talking about flame wars.
