So you're okay with his speech, then. That's good, at least.

Also: you meant to type you're in your first sentence.

Liberals are parents too.

This only strengthens his claim that the education system is poor. I mean, it obviously failed to teach him basic spelling, punctuation and syntax.

The only time I've ever seen this to be the case is one one episode of the simpsons. Though, to be honest, it's probably the most accurate source you've cited thus far.

And honestly, parents do have a choice. It may not be the choice they think they want; but they do have one - several, in fact.

Private schools, home schooling, cooperative schools, and last but certainly not least, getting involved in your kids' public schools.

Easier to ***** and moan, though, I guess.

They're not ******* insane, they're masks and smokescreens. They rile up their constituents with pointless ******** like death panels and school speeches to hide the fact that they're all in the pocket of people out to make money off of us.

Previous experiments with this showed it not to be the case. When the Milwaukee school district offered vouchers, there was an initial rush of new applicants which then suffered a 75% attrition rate between 1998-2005. Of course, grades didn't significantly change either so I'm guessing once the novelty wore off and parents realized the private schools weren't some magical fix, it was easier to just return to the public system.

Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich defended President Barack Obama’s speech to school children Tuesday, urging “every child” to read the remarks.

Some conservative critics have accused the president of trying to “indoctrinate” school children with a speech Tuesday welcoming students back to school, but Gingrich said during an interview on NBC’s “Today Show” that the attacks are without merit.

“President Reagan did it, President George H.W. Bush did it,” he said. “I read the speech yesterday when it was posted and I think the White House was smart to post it.”

“It’s a good speech,” Gingrich added. “I recommend it to everybody if you have any doubts. I would love to have every child in America read it, think about it, and learn that they should stay in school and they should study.”

Hell, if Gingrich says the speech is good stuff...

Newt Gingrich is a pinko commie *******. {He's a pinko commie *******} who wants your grandparents dead. It was separated for dramatic effect. Perhaps ellipses could have been used...

I wonder how stupid the protesters are feeling right now.

Laura Bush, Newt Gingrich and the GOP leader in Bush Country East (aka Florida) have all concurred that the speech was not only not pushing a Socialist agenda but was actually a useful message for school children to hear from the leader of the free world.
