This is why Liberals will not allow school choice. Have to keep bringing new Pensives and Annabella's into the world.

Hey, don't look at us. Your side is the one that keeps voting to strip funding from school systems. In the state of Georgia, all school employees from kindergarten to college have been furloughed for 6-12 days this year, and the budgets have been shrunk by 10-20%. We don't exactly have Dems in power 'round these parts.

And it was Republicans freaking out regarding an address from the current president that said "Stay in school, work hard to succeed, and listen to your parents."

That's oddly unsurprising.

Good thing that crack No Child Left Behind Act has jack-all in it for history & social studies and forces schools to cut back their history programs so they can buckle down on rote memorization of English/Math.

No but there are laws that say if your kid lives in this zip code he or she has to go to this public school.

There's a very capitalist answer for this, which you should be happy about: make enough money to move to a zip code with a better school.

Well you want there not to be inequality of public schooling based on zip code, right? I mean, you must, because that's what you said in the first quote above. The way fix that is to more widely apportion the tax dollars that fund the schools, instead of the property taxes on million dollar homes only funding the school district for their own children. Duh.

I'm sure it wasn't biased at all. And even if somehow it wasn't, all it proves is that Oklahoman's are dumb.

And I wouldn't need to pay for a survey to find that out.

I would be curious to know how any of the state's on the left coast's fared with these questions though. As I'm assuming they'd do a heck of a lot better.

I told you this before dude: I'm not having sex with you! The promise of children is not going to change my mind on this. Try a movie, also not being all creepy.

hahaha

It's just hilarious, because you have at least three choices here.

If it's that much of a problem, then take up your fucking bootstraps then and move. If you don't want to move, then you could also homeschool your spawn like lots of other paranoid and illegitimate parents do, probably crippling your children's education, but that's your choice by golly, as an American, to express your freedom to the extent that you completely obliterate the freedom of your children. If you want to at least keep up the illusion of congeniality and respect for your crotch fruit, then send it to a private school.

I don't think that you should have at least two of those choices, by the way, but they are there, and if you think that liberals could actually outlaw private and homeschooling anytime soon, then I'd call you more delusional than I am.

Fake sciences, all of them. Everyone knows that any dude with a bit of study in math can spontaneously reproduce the entirety of social science with perfect accuracy, from intuition, making the entire cluster of disciplines simple and obsolete.

False. If you want your child to go to a different public school, you can pay to have them go. You will be responsible for getting them there and back though.

We had someone in my high school that did this.

When people ask me what I plan to do with a math degree, I get quite a kick out of their faces after saying "anything."

Heck, my rich, pompous suburban school district allowed open enrollment at the high school level where they would bus the students as well. We also had a couple kids move out of the school district in their senior year, and a simple letter to the superintendent let them stay for free as long as they had transportation.

It was a continuation of "being sarcastic and polemical towards gbaji." Except the statement couldn't really be viewed as directed toward gbaji, so let's just go with "of being sarcastic and polemical."

Please provide evidence that shows that it was in fact a democrat who put through that bill. It reaks of the other side's mindset.

Why is it that Conservatives think that every problem will just fix itself and that paying taxes is "unconstitutional" when those taxes are what fixes problems with education and health care?

Without taxes, where the hell would the money for these things come from? If you really think fundraising alone can keep the school systme afloat, you're gravely misinformed as to how much money those fundraisers bring in.

We spend billions on public education every year in this country but despite that our public education system is ranked one of the lowest.

Spend more on education, and less on "national defense"?

Take a close look at the cirriculum and improve it?

Begin a nationwide campaign aimed at getting children to read things other than magazines about Miley Cyrus?

Begin an assertive nationwide campaign aimed at getting children to read in general.

Cease and desist the removal of material(books and such) and forms of physical education because they are "too violent"(phys. ed stuff) or "have foul language" or "writer mentioned a tit" or "promotes devil worship", or "teaches a theory that isn't widely accepted", or "teaches a theory that IS widely accepted, but clashes with one parent's religious beliefs", etc, etc, etc.

CUT funding to football programs(especially in the southern states) and take the money saved by that and put it into something important, such as education.(seriously, you yanks take football FAR too seriously, it's just a sport).

Allow teachers to form rapports with their students. I get the feeling that teachers are afraid to take individual students aside, or become close enough to them to make a difference, because they'll be fired for it on suspicion of being a paedophile.

Increase funding to teaching schools.

There are so many things that could improve the state of America's education system, the problem is that you people see it as "socialism", which, by the way isn't communism. There's a difference.

Honestly, we take that too seriously. **** hockey, I watch the occasional Flames game, but in no way do I take it as seriously as some people, especially Maple Laffs fans and Canadiens fans. It's just a bunch of guys hitting a piece of rubber around a skating rink.

Most importantly, never... EVER... let your children see the President of the United States telling them to stay in school.

Yeah, that stops around third grade. After that, people stay in school so that they can get better jobs than, say, being an insurance salesman.
