I guess this means if Cliff Claven was real, Varrus would go to him for his news. Because knowing tons of useless info is what makes a newscaster.

Haha, I read this on facebook off of one of my conservative friend's pages. My response was simple

He's a journalist. They tend to be dumb. In the hierarchy of "how smart are you" on college campuses, they rank near the bottom. They're above the "College of Family and Consumer Sciences" people that do stuff like fashion merchandising, but they're far far below math, science, and techy stuff, and even rank below the Ag people who do things like turf management. Generally, they are ranked intellectually someplace along the same lines as the marketing majors.

That's a pretty stupid generalization, frankly.

Don't need to be smart to do his job. You just need to read from a prompter/script, ask the democratic advisor, ask the republican advisor, then say "we'll be right back". That's nothing.

Also, since when is Wolf Blitzer a liberal icon? I ******* HATE the Situation Room. Jon Stewart, Bill Mahr, those are your liberal icons.

A goodness litmus test:

Not-super-hot female - liberal icon
Non-white - liberal icon
Anyone who disagrees with a GOP talking point, ever - liberal icon
Anyone with a job in the media, occasionally including FOX - liberal icon
Artist - liberal icon
Atheist - liberal icon

I'm sure there's some I missed.

I always thought of Wolf as that jackass that enjoys his expensive media toys too much.

We're talking about Blitzer not Obama.
I never said the fact that any cable news host doesn't need to be remotely intelligent or even informed isn't a bad thing. Actually, it's a terrible thing, and every 24 hour news channel has serious problems with it.

Seriously, Wolf Blitzer as a liberal icon?

I've never heard anyone of any political affiliation refer to anything Wolf Blitzer has ever said, mainly because he has never said anything of import.

They'd have a category on Russia, so she'd rack up the earnings and a couple daily doubles mixed in for good wager.

I actually just watched both the video clips of both rounds. The questions pretty much offered the same intellectual stimulation as reading Parade Magazine. Andy Richter ended up winning $68,000 though, so good for him.

You know, I was cracking the same jokes last night. "A political commentator has a negative score, but a late-night talk show sidekick wins over fifty grand?" Not that I consider Wolf liberal, or judge intelligence based on a *celebrity* Jeopardy, but the best thing about the show was Dana Delaney with her geek-chic glasses. Hominahomina!

It was kinda funny: she didn't put them on until the game actually started and she had to read the board. So does she just walk around half-blind most of the time?

I sometimes don't wear my glasses when I'm at home. Usually morning or night though. Once I put them on I don't take them off til night. I can see just fine without them, but not good enough to read anything that isn't in my hands.
