Actually you're right. Of course it doesn't hurt that I don't have a problem asking girls out that I notice smiling at me. But basically it's a contact sport, the more people (in this case girls) I contact the better chance I'll have.

I would say that, in this context, social loser replies to a person who has issues meeting people, especially those of whichever geneder he or she is attracted to, and covers that awkwardness up by asserting that his or her lack of a social "herd," so to speak, is actually by choice and not the harsh realities of a personality and mental problem.

But that would just be me hazarding a guess, not Pensive's words, of course.

My take on varrus is more like the deluded extrovert: he's the guy who thinks that everyone likes him. He walks up to random people and starts babbling out a one-sided conversation, while his victim stands there, trapped, saying "Um...yeah. Right. Okay." oh my god this guy is embarassing get me out of here! The guy who doesn't understand how annoying he is, which is why he always interprets insults and dismissals as come-ons. If anyone responds to him, it can *only* be because they're interested in him, not because they're trying to get him to go away.

Which explains why you've been hanging out here for years, even after repeated bannings.
