Ok so this guy with a metal detector actually lucked out and found some stuff. That's fine, good for him and all that jazz. What caught my attention was:

Quote:
The haul, which is potentially worth a fortune, was officially declared 'treasure' on Thursday by a coroner, who has the legal right to decide the status of such finds.

I think it's awesome that there is an official declaration of "treasure", and that the coroner gets to make it. I mean, being a coroner has to be a generally ****** and depressing job, one would think. The ability to occasionally (ok, probably so rarely most never do) declare something officially "treasure" would be worth contemplating the career for.

Random thought for the day, you're welcome.

Then he should donate his findings to the Church instead of keeping it for himself. Ungrateful *******. And then people wonder why God doesn't help out more often...

"well Bobby, it says here on your employment aptitude test and psych evaluation that you should probably spend your days cutting up dead people, most of which will have died horribly under mysterious, and osmewhat odiferous circumstances. But on the bright side, you'll get to also be the guy who decides if shiny objects are really treasure! Eh, eh? How's that for a job perk huh? And to think you wanted to fly the fighter jet or play with the real fire truck instead!"

The dude who found it and the land owner are set to receive a few million as well. Nice work if you can 'find' it.

My thread is more betterer.

But I still want to tap Smash on the shoulder, point to the right to distract him, and run away with Nexa over my shoulder.

Nobby just tell him there is buried treasure, and then show her yours. It will be no contest.

Oh, and I found an aluminum comb and a can of vienna sausages on a camping trip once.

My nephew used to find all sorts of cameras, walkmans, and money. Really just lying around other folks houses. He was so lucky.
