Haha, this is almost like a game of "Spot the odd one out".

The answer being "The Maldives", since they won't exist in 50 years time!

No, there absolutely is an app for Kindle. The battery isn't that much of an issue for myself. I keep the brightness turned down quite low anyhow but I mainly only read when I'm on the train anyhow. So like an hour, tops, at a time.

Like Wint said, I'd buy it in a heartbeat if it was 100-150 but not for 250. It's to much for a device that my computer does much better.

I blame the Blackberry and RIM's inability to work nicely with others.

He linked the Kindle App in Itunes Store, but it doesn't exist for the UK, unfortunately.

If I were going to do books in an electronic format, I'd just want it audio. With Neil Gaiman reading, whatever it is.

Ooooh, I'd have Stephen Fry read everything . I would so go sex Stephen Fry, if he wasn't all gay and anti-vaginas and stuff .

Nothing much, really; he just switched to his Otherkindle.

I just wouldn't want an Iphone so I don't know anything about the Iphone app. I would like to say that I don't regret getting the kindle even though there's been a few times I've though about selling it on Craigslist. I still use it every morning to read the New York times, and it's well worth it for that. I also like keeping all the books that I quote a lot or argue about, and that's really nice. I wish it where easier to save pages for quick access but they might have fixed that on the Kindle 2. I still have the original Kindle and I may or may not buy the new one for myself for christmas.

On Kindle 2 you can highlight and save quotes, paragraphs, and pages from the books you read so you can access your notes and quickly see whatever it is you highlighted. You can also make notes in the book itself so it will highlight the part and you type down your thoughts, then save it for easy access later. Is this what you mean?

'What I mean' is up to the developers, I don't really know what I mean. That sounds like what I would want to use, but if it takes 10 minutes and is a pain in the **** I just wouldn't bother with it.

I really like my Kindle, although it's gathering dust at the moment, since I can't afford to buy new books for it right now. I can access the web on it in a pinch though, which is neat.

So I just bought a book I've been waiting to come out for ages (Diana Gabaldon's An Echoin the Bone) on the kindle. Normal hardcover price is $30. I got it for $9.99 on my kindle. Saved $20. As I said earlier (and others did too) if you read a lot in the long run having a kindle saves you a lot of cash, especially when you buy new released books.

That article makes it sound like Kindle books are not discounted, which they are. Still, it's nice looking. When my Kindle dies I'll look around and see what's available.
