I'm sorry but this **** is just funny. This was on SFGate this morning under the headline "Did Governor send coded message?"

Screenshot

I believe that would be a "Yes."

I get the joke but, out of curiosity, did they mention what the content of the rejected bill was?

He should have started the message out with "Greetings" for a more asylumitic response.

Less amusingly, it's apparently just tit-for-tat, so to speak.

It's a pretty innocuous bill to fund maintenance on the Port of San Francisco. That'll get passed, eventually; but the Governator wants Ammiano to bleed a bit first, I guess.

teh article wrote:
Schwarzenegger's press secretary, Aaron McLear, insisted Tuesday it was simply a "weird coincidence." He sent us veto messages the governor sent out in the past with linguistic lineups such as "soap" and "poet," which he said were also unintended.

"Something like this was bound to happen," McLear said.

Maybe. But the veto message came after Ammiano called the governor a liar and shouted from the audience to "kiss my gay ***" when Schwarzenegger unexpectedly showed up at a Democratic Party dinner in San Francisco on Oct. 7.

I know we all believe Mr McLear's explanation.

The bill was to provide funding for the restoration of San Francisco's waterfronts.

I don't think those "lineups" show that this is a coincidence at all. Rather, I think they suggest that this is what Arnie does for a laugh these days.

I like it when Arnie uses 'lamented', or better still 'lamentation'.

Speaking of California's issues, how did that whole state budget collapse thing end up working out anyway? I could google it I suppose, but it's better to let you Californian's explain it to me.

So Obama's recent decree that federal investigators would stop overriding state legislation that legalized pot was really the California bail-out plan? Sneaky...

True story: when I read this topic yesterday I really had no idea what the "secret code" was. I thought someone was talking about the phrase "kick the can," which might have had some weird unknown meaning.

I guess drinking my orange juice lets me figure things out early in the morning. I almost choked on it when I realized the message.I should have just read the linked article, I suppose :-P

Honestly, I don't see why there should be any controversy. No one likes those damn brown coats.
