I'm gonna do it this year. But instead of 50,000 words of fail, it'll be 50K added to 500K-600K planned three book cycle that I'm already 20K words into.
My attempt this year is, since I've managed to prove that trying to write something into screenplay form first just leads to problems for me, to write out what amounts to the novelization for the entire series I have sitting in the back of my head. (Three hundred episodes' worth, so probably in the range of about 12M words total.)
If it works out, I'll try converting it back into screenplay form afterwards.
Three hours in, and (including the project that started about an hour earlier, namely filling in family trees for basically everyone not of solely peripheral use) almost at 900 words.
Probably not gonna hit the sack until I crack 2k words.
