WEATHER ADVISORY FOR SNOW...WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM 5 PM THIS
AFTERNOON TO 7 AM EST FRIDAY.
SNOWFALL WILL CONTINUE THROUGH THE NIGHT WITH THE HEAVIEST PRIOR
TO MIDNIGHT THEN TAPERING OFF. 4 TO 6 INCHES OF SNOW WILL FALL
ACROSS THE AFFECTED AREA BEFORE SUBSIDING. HEAVIER SNOW BANDS MAY
PRODUCE HIGHER AMOUNTS PARTICULARLY IN HIGHER ELEVATIONS. THERE IS
SOME UNCERTAINTY AS TO WHERE THIS BAND WILL SETUP WHICH COULD LEAD
TO SOME VARIABILITY IN SNOWFALL AMOUNTS.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
THIS STORM WILL HAVE A MODERATE IMPACT ON THE ADVISORY AREA.
SNOWFALL ACROSS THE REGION WILL FREQUENTLY LIMIT VISIBILITIES TO
LESS THAN ONE HALF MILE. THOUGH WINDS WILL BE LIGHT...SNOW WILL
ACCUMULATE RAPIDLY AFTER SUNSET. SNOWFALL COMBINED WITH NEAR
FREEZING TEMPERATURES WILL PRODUCE SLUSHY AND EXTREMELY SLIPPERY
ROAD CONDITIONS. MOTORISTS SHOULD ALLOW ADDITIONAL TIME TO REACH
YOUR DESTINATION. EXPECT SNOW COVERED ROADS TO CAUSE TRAVEL
HARDSHIPS.

Oh but isn't Autumn the most lovely of the seasons?! I'm glad winter doesn't arrive for another month and a half!

Mid 60's here this weekend. I guess it's good but really it means I have no excuse not to clean out the garage and rake & burn leaves.

It's in the 70's today in Colorado (although we had 2 foot of snow last week so I feel ya).

An hour or two south of Nexa it's been snowing most of the day. It's actually accumulating a little bit.

This is the first snow of the season so I'm digging it. Smiley: smile

I can't wait for the first snow in the Mid Atlantic. My company is one of the few out there that will shut down if it snows alot and since I live 1.5hrs away even if it snows a little I'm not expected to come into the office.

I'm just hoping for one decent snow this year. Not the usual dusting or the crappy sleet and slush.

80 degrees here in Gainesville this afternoon. However, rumor has it that by the weekend the temperature will drop into the 40s during the nighttime hours. Ick.

So long as it happens after 7:00 pm or long before I have to drive to work. Driving in it down here is ridiculous. It's like down here they think a salt truck is what sits next to the gravy boat on the supper table...

Well, bugger off, because that's carrying northeast afterward, and we never pissed off anyone. Lately.

You know it makes you extremely uneasy that you see lakes with liquid water in November. Something's just not right!

It was 65 today, without a cloud in the sky. We went downtown and got coffee and sat outside and soaked up the sun.

Were you there for the winter of '89-90?

I was (though, granted, I was only 7 at the time). Florida drivers + ice on roads = mass hilarity.
