It is a story because Tiger Woods is the world's best golfer, and thus a celebrity.
Sorry if this was about typical celebrity cheating there wouldn't be a story. Golf is a gentlemans sport and it's participants, unlike football or basketball or baseball or hockey, are expected to act in a certain manner above what other sports do.
Uh... you just contradicted yourself. You realize that, right? You said it's a story about racial rolemodels, I said it's a story about the world's best golfer, and you responded by saying it's about golf. No kidding.

Are you an idiot? The guy is more Asian than black
He may be more asian than black but the black community identifies with him.
As for the usage of the phrase "american idol"; f*ck the tv show, never watched it never going to watch it. Now do you know what the word idol means? Is Tiger an "american idol"?
Good for the black community. The white community, Native Americans, and Asians can all identify with him as well. But you focus on the black community. And no, I wouldn't say he's an American idol, because that's an idiotic identification. Take a sample of random Americans and ask them that question, more than 80% will likely say no, because he's never been on the show. What a term means to you has jack all to do with what it is in reality. He's a golfer, not an American idol.

Also cite the family values he is selling.
Have you seen a commercial with Tiger when he's not selling something for the family? Whether it's a family mini-van or a family outing to mcd's to most anything he's selling.
To be fair, no I haven't seen any of those commercials, but I don't watch TV except for Glee and sports. Glad that he's espousing family values by sponsoring McDonald's? That's a leap I can't really make. Does he go out with his family in the commercials? Is his wife shown? I think they're just trying to get a popular celebrity to endorse them, and it has little to do with his family.

Only thing I worry about is his golf performance.
Not me. When I watch athletes I tend to either root against or simply not watch athletes that have been involved in bad behaviour, football being the one exception because we already know most of them are thugs before the games ever played.
Let me get this straight, besides you saying the entire sport of football is the exception (which seems really funny to me, as that's a freaking HUGE exception), you will root against a golfer due to his personal life? How many golfers do you root against? I'm really curious. Because, call me crazy, I doubt you know anything about ANY golfer's personal life besides Tiger Woods'.

Strange that when controversies of Michael Vick's dog-fighting came up, we didn't hear a word from you on how this makes him a poor role model for whites.
Probably because Vick was never a role model for whites to begin with.
No, by your own admission, it's because all football players are thugs and thus their personal lives are irrelevant. Nice weaseling, though.
