Yeah, and this chunk of the left actually comprises a larger amount of people than the louder but smaller progressive left.
Repealing DOMA would be nice, but it needs to be a legislative solution or else the next pubbie president will just come along and reinstate it. Guantanamo's replacement facility has been purchased and they're starting to refurbish it; the super-duper-max facility is expected to bring 300 jobs to a fairly job-starved area of Illinois. Afghanistan is a *********** and while I would have liked him to get us out sooner, I'll respect his well-thought-out plans and give them a shot before I pick up my war protest sign again.
As for the healthcare . . . well, we have seriously thought about moving to Canada for that. I love America, but I can't afford to get sick here even WITH insurance.
