The English weather luckily doesn't change too much over the course of the year and it's at nice temperatures most of the time.

I'm still cold but that's because I have some sort of infection.

Just wait until the Gulf Stream collapses, then your weather will be more like Canadas.

I really shouldn't be complaining of a low of 51 with a chance of rain today then. But I have to. My tropical DNA can't take this.

Yeah, it's 25 degrees here, and I'm in Tennessee. It just seems weird.

Last year, I didn't need my winter coat until mid-January, from what I remember.

Must have been warmer in Middle TN then

Except varus is in East TN, with me. =(
He faces east, therefore the hot air goes to the west (and therefore to central TN).

16.8" of snow Tuesday night/Wednesday morning. 6°F outside now. Smiley: frown

Winter came early this year, hopefully we don't break our record snowfall from two years ago of ~105".

We had a day last week where the temperature got down into the twenties and we got enough snow to be a major driving hazard(4-6", lol NM). Then it's been pretty much 50s-60s since.

We did get some hurricane force winds on Tuesday, though.

I love how WI went from balmy as hell and nice like a week ago to dead fucking winter as of 2 days ago.

Digging out of this most recent snow was a ***** though, it was heavy as hell, now rock hard.

I'm really finding myself wishing for some cloud cover right about now, even if it means rain or even snow.

It's a lot easier for Tristan to understand why we can't go to the park or the zoo or the nature park when it doesn't appear to be gorgeous and sunny outside the window.

Plus, at this point the clouds would probably insulate us some and make it a bit warmer.

It's cool here right now, daytime highs near the mid-40's. I really can't complain though. I still haven't even busted out a coat yet this year.

We're in that lovely no man's land between freezing and not freezing, so there's black ice all over the place.

I wanna say it's in the 50's or 40's down here in the dirt but since we're all incapable of dressing for anything outside the realm of 75 we tend to freeze our tits off out of human error.

Last night was our coldest yet this year. Got down to around 16 degrees. I think it's about 20-something out there now, and it's not supposed to get above 40 today. Chilly for TN!

We have this problem too. Here in the Portland area, normal winter temps are in the 40s (for me, being from Michigan, that barely requires a jacket) so unless you're one of those people who goes into the mountains to ski, generally you don't have a lot of gear for really cold weather.

A couple weeks ago we went to the zoo with friends and it was in the 50s. Our friends were wearing hats and we didn't have any and they seemed warmer than us, so on a lark that weekend I crocheted hats for all of us, and I'm awfully glad I did; not only did they stand us in good stead when we went to ZooLights last Friday night, but now they're in daily use. We have a couple thin scarves, but no gloves or mittens to speak of. Trying to decide if I want to crochet those to match our hats, or take the more immediate route and buy some.

At least Tristan has something approximating a proper winter jacket this year (corduroy exterior with fleece lining.) The past two winters, his jacket has been a hoodie sweatshirt.

Fuck.

Last night it was twenty degrees.

Today...it's twenty degrees. I think the Sun is finally losing power.
