Since I'm descended from John Alden, I have to check with of his offspring the Baily's married into. I happen to know which of his children I'm descended from since they married a Standish.

Darn Jonwin for posting just as I was typing this.

Interesting. Supposedly, somewhere back in my line is an Alden/Standish marriage as well. At least that's the story, but I've never been able to confirm it. The Geneologies you can find online are pretty frickin vast with that bunch...

I believe it was their grandkids that got married. My great great grandmother was a Standish, I believe, as my great grandmother middle name was Standish. Family tradition has given more then a few family members with the mother's maiden name as their middle name.

Thankfully I wasn't given a middle name base on family. Instead I was named after a County in Ireland.

I went to school with a girl who was descended from Standish.

My heritage is predominantly German, both sides of the family from north-central Ohio.

Fascinating. My great grandparents fucked in a privy at the Sullivan wake.

Your mother's a *****. You like to jack off dogs. That's right, you heard me. You like to grab that dog by the bone and rub it like a ski pole. Your dad? Gay. Your priest? Straight. **** off and let me post. It's not true, it's all in good fun. Now go away.

Communal bonding is an innate Adaptive behaviour trait, that works with the maths that communities of co-operators win over communities of cheaters, even if individual cheaters win over individual co-operators.

On my mother's side it's pretty much British with a little bit of Swedish. I'm descended from one of the siblings of King Henry IV. Distantly related to former president Lyndon B. Johnson.

On my dad's side, it's Irish, British and some scottish. Related to Virginia Dare. That's all I know.

This is just what I've been told by my family members who are trying to figure out our family tree.

I'm half-Italian and Sicilian, descended from some petty criminal that got killed by the mafia and a bunch of really religious Catholics. My other half has alot of Scottish. English and Irish too, though alot of the English ancestry was later found to be Irish. And of course, the ever present Acadien ancestry. On my maternal grandmother's side, we thought for years that we were descended from merchant marines and other sailors. Upon closer inspection, we have more relatives that were dockhands. Ha, ha. With all my ancestry crammed together, everyone thinks I'm German anyway.

Also, many snappy dressers in the family.
