So as we leave behind the 2nd decade of the 21st century, and 2020 is just a few days away, let's reflect. . .
Back in 2010 we were in a different world. 2D Television, Movies and Web (remember 2.0? ), Cars still had wheels and we still used to cram ourselves into planes with strangers to travel any distance.
So what are Nobby's highlights from the last "Twenteens"?
2010 - Well few of us expected the assassination of DiCk Cheney, and there are still conspiracy theorists claiming that John Kerry was framed by the Pentagon.
2011 - Most of us still cringe at the ill-conceived commemoration of the 9/11 disaster. Seeing President Obama in an orange jump-suit flying a radio-controlled Boeing into the Saudi Royal Palace in Riyadh was spectacular, but not in a good way.
2012 - Having been lucky enough to visit the London Olympics, I'll never forget the look on Prince Philip's face as the javelin caught him in the face. Rest in Peace.
Speaking of British Royalty, we were all surprised when King William announced his engagement to Boy George that Christmas.
2013 - Did any of us expect President Limbaugh's first decrees to be the legalisation of child tattoos, the compulsory expatriation of Jews and nationalisation of Burger King?
2014 - The merging of the National Rifle Association with Gay Clowns for Same-Sex Marriage meant that circuses have never been the same again.
2015 - Alaskans were initially up in arms when the state was handed back to Russia, but eventually saw the up side of seeing Sarah Palin admitted to a Siberian Gulag with her big spectacles and stupid fUcking smirk.
2016 - Fox, CBS, ABC and CNN were outraged when Chelsea Clinton and Miley Cyrus agreed that the Presidential debate should be held on Allakhazam's Forum=4
2017 - Remember how we all crowded around the HoloVision set to watch the first landing on Mars, and our astonishment at discovering that there are Republicans on other planets?
2018 - Known now to all Republicans as the "We Told You So" year, when homosexual marriage was made compulsory for all over-14s and gun-licenses became restricted to people of black, hispanic or irish heritage.
2019 - The year I invented my time machine. Huzzah!
Anyone else have significant memories of the decade 2010 to 2019?
