BBC to ask public about its portrayal of gay people

Quote:
The BBC has commissioned a wide-ranging investigation into how lesbian, gay and bisexual people are portrayed on TV, radio and online.

The research will ask a variety of people across the country what they think about subjects such as jokes, dramatic storylines and stereotyping.

The BBC's Tim Davie said it was "vital" for the corporation to reflect the "diverse communities" across the UK.

This makes me think we should discuss the portrayal of the gay, lesbian, bisexual and part time woodcutting/lumberjack population in the Asylum Smiley: nod

My complaint is that Varus is not camp enough ... yet.
The closet is not the best place honey!

The reason they both left was so annoying too. Nothing we did, they just both felt that the other had a better claim to the place and didn't want to make it akward when the breakup occured. So we ended up that much the poorer for it when they both left.

I portray the gay community as a normal, down to earth bunch who just want to be left the fuck alone to enjoy life.

And also have wild perverted sex with as many same sex partners as safely as humanly possible.

EDIT: I come to the Asylum to say fuck.

Pfffft. The thing to do is pee all over the board repeatedly to assure ownership.

Angua was always the bigger personality on the board. I always thought she'd be back, but maybe this place brought back bad memories.

Merrikat posted alot more before your time, then she gradually stopped posting as much, thats the way it stayed for several years before they both left.

I asked Angua to come back once several months after, but she declined for something along those reasons. I think she thought that since Merrikat was here first, she had better call? I dunno. It's very seldom I hear why people leave, and when its something like that, it makes me sad.

I suppose some just grow out of forum posting. Or some get blocked at work and don't continue at home. Others went into the military and were never heard from again (hippo, Praetorian, etc) I suspect Mren got ran over by his own van when the stalker went after him, though to be honest we were a little rough on him at the end there. Tormentcia, she just up and vanished one day. 40 posts a day one week, then nothing. I've always wondered about that one.

That sounds like a private goal to stop posting because the forum was taking over their life was set.

You know that lingering smell that the admins are still trying to get out of the servers?

That was his doing.

"The Bill" introducing storylines with gay men and lesbian women as main characters, and having them kiss on TV screen, is the only reason my grandparents now think homosexuality is acceptable.
