I gave up a slot in a nice career, went out, taught something and stayed because I thought teaching had more social value than doing DUI cases at an easy thousand a shot. I don't follow the narrow guidelines of your vision, so according to your posting style, I'm a liberal -- the liberals on the forum might hold otherwise. I regularly give away services on a pro bono basis that would be worth anywhere from 20% to 100% of my gross salary. When I taught next to the nursing school, I stripped my voice facing classes of 1,500 students and it was for free. I've taken on the responsibility of several quasi adoptive daughters, seen them through their studies and helped them start their careers. I'm working in a big, international city right now because that's where my daughters work and want me to be. I've worked in rural areas and may well be on my way to Inner Mongolia because the missionaries that come here to pr ... erm, teach don't like to get too far from the expat markets while they rake in the donations from their churches for the vast 'hardships' they face living in gated, luxury compounds.

You would sit in judgment of my public service? Get yourself on a plane, donate a year doing something outside your neighborhood, outside the US (and outside the expat safe havens) to help the human condition and get back to me if you make it. Do it another 16 times and you're still playing catch up.

The "liberals" you troll, do you treat them with the respect you ask for yourself or is it just a way to pat your ego? Allow me to help you, that book you're quoting is rather longer than what you seem to have read:

You know Varus, I just cannot for the life of me understand you. I cannot call you a liberal due to your vocal hatred towards everyone that associates themselves with said political belief. On the other hand you call yourself a conservative, but I know several very strong conservatives that would rather vote democrat than associate themselves with you. Which leads me to believe that either you are trolling people and love to stir the crap or you have an OCD for arguing. I don't know, maybe you are one hell of a troll but due to what consistency you do have to your ideals leads me to believe that you have a mental problem.

A classic example would be this. People here try to discuss the various topics, including the ones you put on the forum. Some people seem to want to discuss said topics yet others want to poke fun of you, irregardless of which one though you decide to resort to name calling, putting people down, and inflating your own ego. You want to enable but when it comes to being enabled you just close your eyes and ears and tear down the whole concept of a forum.

Of course I am pretty new to the Asylum forums so I might be completely off. Who knows with Varus I suupose. -shrug-
