Voices in Movies and on TV. Some are mesmerising.
Watching The Shawshank Redemption for the gazillionth time, it occurs to me that Morgan Freeman's voice-overs add so much. Without them, it would still be a good movie, but with the soothing, matter-of-fact tone of voice, this is possibly one of the key factors (subconsciously perhaps) why it's so often voted best movie evarr.
Others are predictable - James Earl Jones as Darth Wossname, Robert Shaw as the Shark catcher in Jaws.
Purely from a voice perspective, which actors stand out to you?
Well along these lines (going with 'mesmerising') the narrator from 300. Loved that voice.
Lots of memorables...too many to mention. Along the line of commanding, like James Earl Jones was teh king on the broken Island in the original Dr. Dolittle.
A couple of my favorite voices; Ira Glass of This American life, the radio dj from Northern Exposure.
I have a cold and am not googling.
