...that was a heck of a hockey game. You almost knew it had to be going in, what with the Master/Servant vibe that they used to have, but I'll be Bob damned, that was fun to watch.

I watched a little bit. Glad to see the Russians lose one, but not feeling exactly confident after the Can/Swiss game. Wow, we did NOT steamroll them at all.

Looking forward to Sunday - Us/Can is always a great game.

To be fair, the Swiss team is half Candian anyway, aren't they? Also, we lost to them in Torino, so this is a move forward.

I don't know about that, but they played a very defensive game and they were not afraid to hit. A few Canadian players cut up - Crosby got two high sticks to the face and no call. So clearly the referee was Swiss.

Aren't the Swiss traditionally neutral?

Full disclosure, I wouldn't mind seeing Crosby take a freak skate to the neck or upper inner thigh. Then Ovie could get the credit he deserves instead of the NHL holding up a marginal superstar as the great white hope.

The CAN/SUI game was a good tilt. Brodeur likes to prove he's human from time to time. The game this weekend is going to totally suck for people on the free side of the border if the blue line can't tighten up (or the forwards can't figure out how to drop back on a D pinch). There were way too many odd man rushes given up to a team that not good.

It wasn't the D or Brodeur, it was the forwards. Most of them were playing like they expected to win. There was a complete lack of puck support, they couldn't win any battles and (like you said) there was no defensive responsibility. Combine that with the forecheck the Swiss put in place and you have a recipe for disaster.

If we're going to beat team USA on Sunday the forwards will have to play a lot better. Hopefully Babcock can get them playing like they should.

No, I said the free side of the border is going to need tighter D. That means those of us who don't still have a Governor General from Her Majesty's empire standing in front of a couple billion people opening our Olympic Games. I'd suggest reading for comprehension next time, but you're Canadian so the cause is fairly well lost.

Silly me, I should've known that 'free' meant a lack of a head of state.

Fine, call it a tie.

At least you limited it to Florida and didn't bring in the entire confederacy...

Having never met a French person that found Jerry lewis funny, I tend to be a bit of a conspiracy theorist on this one. I think it's all a ploy by Jerry Lewis to pretend he's popular somewhere.

When I was younger, I would often watch Quebecquois TV Series just to laugh at their accent. And clothes. And haircuts. I was stoned, admitedly, but it was still pretty hilarious.

I feel the same about Germany and David Hasselhoff.
