This one was so good I couldn't confine it the the TV/Movies/etc board.

Apparently, the concept of werewolves originated with Twilight. But don't worry. Tweenie McFanboi is there to set Universal Pictures straight and give them a good scolding for ripping off the idea, and for not making werewolves sexay.

a sample size of 1 is hardly a testament to an entire age group

Or should I start judging all the 30+ people in the world based on what pubes says?

To be fair, James Patterson and Laurell K. Hamilton both bear just as large shares of the blame for this crap as stephanie meyers. Seriously, I can almost understand book burning after just the back covers of a few of those. "maximum ride? WTF???"

That is some pretty funny ****. I wonder what the poor deluded girl would think of vampires if she saw the old black and white vamp films? Maybe she'd write a letter to Bela Lugosi accusing him of copying and distorting the guy who plays Edward.

At least Hamilton provides good sex-ed for tweens. Back in my day it was Clan of The Cave Bear, and they didn't use condoms and the pill.

Plus Hamilton covers consensual sex, rape, make-up sex, B&D, S&M, threesomes, orgies, sex-magic, tantra, mild vore, and Furrydom.

Clan of the Cave Bear only covered consensual sex, rape, and make-up sex.

Yeah, well I was a 12 year old virgin. I didn't know it was bad. I just knew that there was so much of it in The Valley of Horses that it was driving out the plot, so I gave up the series.

Hah, I never realised those books were so old. I only read the first three, but the last one was newly released when I started. Who takes a 12 year break in the middle of a series? Anyway, yeah, I skipped all the sex scenes 'cause they looked awful, even when I was thirteen.

P.S. if HAmilton books are the alternative, "tweens"* should go back to getting their sex-ed from fumbling, dissapointing sex like their grandparents before them.

*I fucking hate this word.

The sex scene at the end of "Stealing Beauty" is the most honest, touching version of two people losing their virginity together I've ever seen. D'awwww. Smiley: sly

(yeah, how does one get out of tight jeans, then shoes, and socks sexily???? Where do all the elbows go? Ow! my teeth! Ow! Your forehead!)

Yes, yes they are.

But in fairness they have always been. This isn't new, and it says exactly jack **** about this chick's generation.

No, kids are not getting more stupid. Congratulations, Ambrya - you're old.

Actually, it's not just kids. My sister, when she was in her early 30's once asked me if I realized that Dolly Parton originally did "I Will Always Love You." I punched her.

ETA: The quote has nothing to do with my post, just agreeing with the "Twilight" haters.

It'd certainly help to take the shoes off first. As for the rest, I found tetris to be an excellent primer.

I'd chide them on their lack of perspective, but I don't want to wind up strapped to a piece of fairy cake.

I've always loved Whitney's version better anyway. They both have decent voices, but Whitney's version is more.. soulful?

Incidentally, the DP version was featured in a movie about my home town in TX, or at least, the whorehouse there. The scene from The Bodyguard that features this song is much more emotionally moving, IMO. Then again, I loved The Bodyguard, so I'm biased.

Meh, I enjoyed the idea of Twilight despite the truly horrible writing. It figures the only good book Meyers wrote would be the one she abandons.

Never got into any other sci-fi writers, LotR or Harry Potter or anything like that. Isn't it all fluff with its accompanying crazies?

Hey now, let's be careful with the lumping in of the hobbitses.
