Obamacare is anti-businessFollow

#1 Mar 19 2010 at 9:18 AM Rating: Decent

Caterpilar, the worlds largest equipment manufacturer, are begging politicians not to pass obamacare because it will cost them 100 million in the first year alone.

This sort of thing isn't supposed to happen in a free market economy.

Quote:
A letter Thursday to President Barack Obama and members of Congress signed by more than 130 economists predicted the legislation would discourage companies from hiring more workers and would cause reduced hours and wages for those already employed.

Any of you liberals still think Obama cares about the economy or decreasing that unemployment number?

Well, that's interesting because apparently they already offer competitive health benefits to employees.

Now, if they're bemoaning the fact that they can no longer keep someone on the payroll at 39 hrs/week so they don't have to offer benefits, well, let me just shed a single tear for this rich and powerful business conglomerate.

There, done.

Health care is about 1/6th of the economy in the US and government is vastly more efficient at it as indicated by both the example of foreign nations and within the US in that medicare is vastly cheaper mostly due to low overhead.

The amount of savings which could be realized by converting to government run care is about 1/3 to 1/2 the total cost of heathcare.

Right wingers can clearly oppose the government plan based on ideology. Economics? Hardly.

Of course the proposed bill is not government run care - but why not? Oh ya, conservatives opposed it.

Yeah...and when those rich and powerful busineses decide to hire less people and downsize to avoid being raped by obamacare that'll really show them.

Are you really that stupid?

Iam,

No they'll adapt by cutting jobs and taking their business to countries that don't have obamacare.

Of course then Dems will continue to whine about how businesses shouldn't be allowed to operate in whichever country offers more tax incentives instead of tax increases.

So their employees will drop dead there instead. I guess you really do care about American lives.

If insurance companies are allowed to continue to rape employers and individuals, then that is an inevitable outcome anyway.

If they're raping both then there will be fewer people left alive to hire.

Win, win.

I think the question is reversed. Can insurance companies' marks leave the insurance companies?

We've raised the bar from "leave marks" to "need to be beaten" to "death".

I'm pretty sure the next definition of rape will require necromancy.

House Democrats still don't have the votes. They need like 40. I don't blame them holding out. The longer they hold out the more leverage they have over Obama. And we all know good govn is all about the president bribing congress with tax payers money.
