Try getting out a bit more and exposing yourself to actual opinions other than liberal ones. You might find that things aren't as cut and dried as they are presented for you.
Well, I do, but the conservative opinions usually involve large amounts of rancor and invective.
And all those people on your TV and radio telling you about how violent and racist those evil conservatives are can't be wrong!
It's the violently racist conservatives on the TV and radio that the rancor and invective is coming from. There are some places upstate where the only talk radio I can find is Glenn, Rush et. al. on Fox affiliates.
Beck is a fountain of sanity compared to Keith Olbermann. Seriously. Watched him literally rant for 15 minutes at the end of his show last night. All he did was list off GOP candidates and say something bad about each one and then chastise the audience for not doing enough to prevent them from potentially gaining power. It was surreal to watch. He didn't even attempt to present reasons or arguments or comparisons. Just constant bashing and nothing else.
I can honestly say that I have *never* seen anyone on Fox news (or CNN to be fair) simply express such directly partisan (and intensely negative) views. There's pretty much no comparison. If you want to see nutty off-the-rails-crazy political hacks, just tune to MSNBC for an hour or two.

But, I know, you don't listen to them so they don't really speak for what the conservative movement is *really* about.
I watch a variety of news sources. I do so specifically to get as broad a set of opinions as possible. I do so because for years I *never* watched or listened to political commentary of any kind, yet posters continually accused me of just parroting what some conservative pundit I'd never heard of had said about the issue at hand. I wanted to find out what they were talking about. I listened to Air American exclusively for about a year on the radio, just to see where the left was coming from. I then switched to watching Fox News for awhile. Then CNN. Then MSNBC. I flip around on the AM dial for various talk as well (although not much since I have a short commute and only listen to the radio in my car).
I don't just listen to one side and parrot their positions. I know it's popular liberal rhetoric to just make this accusation blindly and wildly. I guess it makes you feel better to think that your positions are based on reason and logic and all the conservatives are just mindless zombies or something. But that's simply not the case. I'd argue that from my perspective it appears like liberal posters tend to be the least broadly informed and the most likely to just parrot what they've heard. But that could be my own bias speaking.
