But ya I don't see any AFC team being able to stop the Ravens, they are just to good at keeping other offenses off the field.
When they're not sucking. Like when they got beaten by Jacksonville. Or trounced by the Chargers. Or lost to the Titans without CJ. Or when they got the snot kicked out of them by Marshawn Lynch?
You know, first they need to get by Arian foster and Andre Johnson. Two players that can take control of a game. There's no foregone conclusions here. The Ravens can toss out a stinker as well as anyone in the league.
Yeah, pretty much what I was going to say. When the Ravens are good, they're real good. But when they're riding the Suck Horse, it won't matter. Kinda like the Giants as well. There's just too much inconsistency with those two teams.
My bet is it'll be Packers-Pats. I see whichever team winning the Bal-Hou game flaking out against the Pats.
That said, if by some miracle
*cough* the Donkeys actually made it to the AFC championship game, I'd almost have to start rooting for them. I don't think there's much of a chance of it happening, but then I didn't think there was any shot of them getting by the Steelers either.
Packers vs. Pats is my guess as well. I like the Giants, even against Green Bay; it seems like they're a team that, if they can survive their inevitable end-of-season-collapse and get into the playoffs with an iota of momentum, they pick up a big head of steam. Their no-blitz rush is unique, and it seems like it
can* serve them real well in the playoffs against the air-it-out finesse teams (Pats, Saints, Green Bay).
*All that being said, I still think the Packers will be able to handle them. Consider it my measure of the difference between Aaron and Eli. It's not that I believe that Eli will be bad, but some part of me can always kind of envision him throwing two pick-6's to Woodson or the like.
I'll take my Texans to beat Baltimore, but feel free to disregard that because it's motivated slightly by bias. I'm just hoping that the Texans come in with a big fat chip on their shoulders. Either way, I think the team that comes out runs into a buzz saw NE offense that neither can keep pace with (same for the Broncos, which is why I'm penciling them out).
Super Bowl:
Pats outgun the Pack, in a minor upset that gets all the pundits talking about how we NEVER should have discounted Brady in favor of Rodgers, even though they were the very ones doing it. "Blah blah blah, I'll tell you what, Aaron Rodgers had an MVP season, but Tom Brady does one thing, and that's win the big games." Etc. etc.
