Funny I found an
article that Claims the smarter a Republican is the more stupid they can get when face with reality.
Um... It goes both ways. I particularly love this section:
Quote:
For Republicans, having a college degree didn’t appear to make one any more open to what scientists have to say. On the contrary, better-educated Republicans were more skeptical of modern climate science than their less educated brethren. Only 19 percent of college-educated Republicans agreed that the planet is warming due to human actions, versus 31 percent of non-college-educated Republicans.
For Democrats and Independents, the opposite was the case. More education correlated with being more accepting of climate science—among Democrats, dramatically so. The difference in acceptance between more and less educated Democrats was 23 percentage points
The author is looking at the wrong aspect. Both are the same, not the opposite. What the data actually shows is that the more educated you are, regardless of which "side" you are on, the more likely you are to strongly stick to your position on the issue of global warming. Both sides believe that when they look at the data out there, that it supports their position and refutes the other guys.
It's only the author's own bias that his side must be right that makes him conclude that Republicans are somehow different on this. If you switch it around, and you assume that the Dems are wrong about global warming, the same exact argument can be made in reverse. You could conclude that for some strange reason, the more educated a Democrat is, the more they will cling to their wrong-headed ideas.
