Yeah, her original remark is that she wouldn't go there and wouldn't have her (hypothetical) son go there for a team event, not that no one should be allowed to work there and they need to close.

I think people just like to look at women and eat (apparently sub par from the comments here) food and they don't like to be told that someone else dislikes it for moral (for lack of a better word) reasons. They have to make excuses for why it's ok to spend their own money there. That's easier to do by pretending that the person who objects is insane and has no basis for an argument.
