Dear thread,
The other day at the office I wanted to listen to a podcast on the way home when I realized I had a promotional pen with a 4GB flash drive in the back of it. So I popped that out, downloaded the podcast onto my work computer, moved it to the flash drive and then plugged the flash drive into the USB port on my car stereo. Probably a minute total in effort on my part, if that. It occurred to me that I still regarded this relatively mundane course of action with a great deal of novelty and magic, sort of like the Douglas Adams line of man still thinking digital watches are a pretty neat idea. It's not that I'm unfamiliar with USB drives; I guess it's just after living through data cassettes and various permutations of floppy disks and CD-ROMs, etc it still strikes me as pretty cool that there's magic data sticks so common that they just give them away for free these days.
Also, Firefox doesn't have "USB" in its spell check. Get with the program, Firefox.
