Hmmm, I just occasionally try and grow something different. I got a hibiscus plant late last summer. It was a sad looking thing on sale at Home Depot. Hibiscus i read can't tolerate the winters, so I found a spot in the house that give about as much sunlight as I could get inside but didn't think it would thrive with the shortened day.
I moved it back outside last week. Yesterday it blossomed with 5 big red flowers. I should take a picture.
There's so much great new music these days, I can't keep up. Mostly I'll check out stuff my daughter links me that I find on NPR or stuff I hear here. This reminds me though, Connor Oberst (Bright Eyes) has a new album you can get a first listen in it's entirety
HERE - probably only for a couple more days.
New food item....Sometime over the winter I bought chia seeds - not to plant but to use in parfait like things. I liked the parfaits (mostly greek yogurt and oats), but didn't like the chia seeds. Now I'm wondering if i can plant them, but they're probably sterile. They were expensive.
Oh here's a new one we discovered and have indulged in over the winter. There's just two of us now so when we make pancakes or waffles there are always lots of leftovers. I freeze them flat (in the case of waffles I'll quarter it as well) then stick them in freezer bags. You can pull them out individually and toast them. Home made Eggos basically.
